Some nice solid Walnut handrails done for a new build in Barnton, Edinburgh. Some pretty intricate parts to mitre and scribe due to the layout of the steel balustrades made this a nice test of skill and patience which made the end result all the more rewarding.

Some handrails fitted the other week with a mixture of oak and redwood with glass panels for a client. Staircases, oak handrails and glass panels were from StairBox.com

Brand new front door for a customer in Leith. Shape of the old frames in an old flat was out a lot so needed a fire door blank cut to shape then plant on beads to create a panel door look.

Set of mirrored shaker doors and a set of single panel shaker doors made for a customer in Leith for their cupboard. Made from moisture resistant MDF. Can't wait to see it all painted.

Busy week on this job getting the staircases fitted which has started making it all look less like a building site. Contractor for this job has the windows arriving tomorrow so it'll come together really quickly

Here's some examples of flooring I've done in bathrooms with karndean flooring. This vinyl flooring is idea for bathrooms and shower brooks since it's a vinyl click floor instead of wood, ply, mdf based flooring there's no chance of it lifting or bubbling from water damage.

A couple of examples of wood paneling I've done in bathrooms.
Wood paneling can really make a room stand out regardless of whether you're going for a more traditional look with wood stain or varnish or going for a more modern look and giving it some color.

Couple older pictures I had, one with a previouslu damaged sash window where the astragals were broken/missing so I replaced with brand new and glued it back together again all ready for painting/glazing and the other a sash and case window that required some work to make it functional again after years of it just being sealed shut. Cleaned up and ensured the weights were still there and correct for the weight of the window, re roped and new ingoes, soffits and cill done to finish off the area.

Old flooring was damaged with rot and woodworm so it was all ripped up, treated the joists underneath and new flooring down. This finish means I can even be sanded and stained for that original look or simply covered over

Customer had some dampness along their concrete staircase. Removed the concrete skirting, wall stripped of plaster before fitting a damp proof course and membrane before it was re plastered and some mdf scribed around each step on this curved wall then matching into the existing skirting towards the bottom

Was asked if I would replace some vents in a property in corstorphine that had old victorian style metal vents, after looking about for the customer I found ones similar to what he was after that were custom made to order, he was happy enough with the wait time on manufacturing and was pleased with the finish on all 4 vents. I made sure to clean out all debris behind the previously damaged vents to ensure there would be unobstructed air flow.

This was a kitchen fit I done a couple years ago for a customer on a budget. They purchased the kitchen second hand which meant I had to do a little messing about to arrange the units they had to the room layout but worked out fairly well for the customers budget

This was a first one for me some years back, was actually a second hand conservatory the customer bought which was in reasonably good condition, luckily the weather was good for us as we knocked it up

A few examples of work done for dampness and damp proofing. Some cellars fully tanked and sealed ready to frame on top of using special plugs designed as an anchor for screws to ensure no weak points in the tanking. I really enjoyed tanking cellars as it meant that customers could gain space in either their disused basements or underpavement cellars commonly seen in Edinburgh city center

So this is hopefully the beginning of something I've wanted since I first picked up a hammer. I have been a joiner for 17 years with a wide variety of different aspects of joinery experience from bench hand/manufacturing to fitting, preservation and damp proofing, structural, sash and case windows, framing, suspended ceilings, kitchen and bathroom fitting as well as a working knowledge of a variety of trades.

Over the years I've often been asked why I've never started up on my own and never really understood why myself.

Despite the name my services are not limited to the Edinburgh area, I happily work in all surrounding areas.

I will be happy to answer any questions in DMs, offer free advice and quotes and will always strive to be fair priced and offer the best service possible.
