Some of the Accountability Edinburgh team visited the Edinburgh Food Project warehouse. As our charity partner this year, we heard about the crucial work they are doing in 7 food banks across Edinburgh.

Edinburgh Food Project supported 6,000 individuals last year – a quarter of whom were families with children. With the cost-of-living crisis, donations have dropped significantly – and they find themselves with an immediate need for food, toiletries, and cash.

We were thrilled to donate £1,684.10, which will go towards their food banks, helping people in crisis, and running their money-advice service.

This project is a real favourite of ours. Presentation leave behinds amazingly designed and printed on translucent paper so that the image of the products inside could be seen through the natural outers that inspired their creation.

(And all pulled together in a super-short length of time! Always delighted when a plan comes together perfectly!)

Today, we’re spotlighting women in our team and learning about what being part of Accountability Edinburgh means to them. Mahdokht says:

"We need a sustainably produced, recyclable, life-size (2m) replica of one of our truck’s tyres that can be easily transported, easily put up (and taken down), that doesn’t weigh a ton and that can help inspire the engineers and scientists of the future at various school events across the country. Can you sort? And can we have a carry case too?"

Yes and yes - all sorted. Made from 100% repulpable Xanita board which is not only lightweight but very strong. We worked out a solution that allowed it to be easily assembled and easily taken down so that it stands 2m high but packs down to fit in the back of a car. Phew!
