An Asian Burrito?! 🤯 I didn’t know how much my life was missing one until approximately 30 minutes ago. Yep I wolfed it down and have to immediately tell you about it…

Pr sample • today’s lunch is courtesy of brand new .o.f.e_burrito (which stands for Taste Of The Far East) who are currently soft launching their signature wrap menu in Edinburgh. I won’t lie, I was sceptical. But then the owner, Adam Cheung, who’s originally from Hong Kong and recently moved up from London, began to tell me how passionate he was about food, these flavours and his tried and tested concept.

Curiously got me and I ordered!

All burritos come loaded with lettuce, sliced carrots, red cabbage and forbidden rice (that’s black rice which has more protein and fibre, in Ancient China only the upper class could afford to eat it, hence the name). Then we’ve got:

Gangham Style - sweet and spicy Korean sauce glazed chicken with sriracha Mayo dressing

Thai Peanut Sauce - creamy coconut satay on crispy chicken with Thai sweet chilli sauce

Both were very different with equally impressive depth of flavour in the rich sauces. I’d have liked a little more chicken… but I couldn’t actually finish it so there’s possibly a balance to be struck with the rice. The accompanying salt and chilli style T.O.F.E fries were also EPIC, they’re double fried (and you can tell!!) in a blend of Asian spices garnished with chilli and spring onion.

I recon T.O.F.E is going to do rather well! They’re at 161 Dundee Street in Dalry (just takeaway lunch right now) and it’s 10% off if you preorder. Give it a go, I think you’ll be surprised
