Each week offers a new unique project. Our professional artist tutor will introduce new techniques and materials each week, with an emphasis on experimentation and play.

LOVE Gorgie Farm is a friendly urban farm in the heart of Edinburgh which offers educational and training opportunities for all visitors.

We will get to know the much loved animals of the farm such as goats, chickens, cows, pigs and alpacas. There is also a market garden producing lots of fresh food throughout the year which will be an endless source of inspiration.

There are inside and outside classrooms depending on the weather, so please bring suitable clothes when possible ( light waterproofs on wet days, a hat for the sun...). Please bring a drink for our break, squash/water will be provided. All materials are included.

The class will be 8 persons max, so please book in advance.

The farm is a safe and friendly environment with cafe and playground open from 9:30 - 4pm. Pick up and drop off will be from the rainbow education room at the back of the main building where the fruit trees and picnic tables are (opposite the Alpaca field). Parents are welcome to stay if they wish.

More gorgeous mono-prints πŸ’™ We found lovely pine needles, pine cones and pumpkins to draw today. I love the blue fading to black of the Scots Pine drawing in particular! Can anyone spot the pumpkin pie and fork?

What shapes are the flowers? How do you use your charcoal to create different tones? How can you use your fingers to add shadows? What marks can you use to describe the seeds, petals and stalk?

This last week we were inside the greenhouse sheltering from the rain! We collected some of the plants we liked from the overgrown education garden and drew them first with pencil. We then made stencils from our favourite ones and used them to add bold silhouettes!
Lots of other prints and marks were added as we experimented with ink and pencil!
