OLLIE & IVY WEDDINGS | Earlier in August we had the pleasure of being back in familiar territory in Glasgow. This time, it was all about Chan and Ashley who came all the way from San Francisco to tie the note in these rather unique art deco surroundings.

It being a late summer wedding, the colours chosen reflected the season with a mix of warm jewel shades that complemented the distinct aesthetic of the venue.

OLLIE & IVY WEDDINGS | It’s always lovely when past clients send you photos from their special day. Elly and Max got married in Edinburgh at Old St Paul’s Church in the Old Town and the party continued at the Portrait Gallery.

With Elly’s roots firmly in Scotland, they travelled from their home in Italy to tie the knot in front of family and friends. Choosing a palette of cool blues, purple and lilac, the floral theme chimed with the beauty and grandeur of the Ramsay Room in the gallery.

It was a pleasure to be part of their wedding and always lovely to work with the events team .

Congratulations to the happy couple and we wish them all the best in their future together in Italy.

OLLIE & IVY FLOWER SCHOOL | We had a lovely afternoon in the Edinburgh sunshine yesterday, with these ladies who joined us for our CREATE A HAND-TIED BOUQUET WORKSHOP.

Whilst three joined us from the same family to belated celebrate Mother’s Day, the other four ladies came along to celebrate a birthday. It really was a daughter and mother affair and they all had a lot of fun selecting and arranging these beautiful stems, plus learning all about floral design principles.

Remembering of course the “Harry Styles rule” of always arranging your spiral in one direction!

OLLIE & IVY FLOWER SCHOOL | It was lovely to have these ladies in on our full day FRESH SUMMER FLORALS workshop last Friday.

OLLIE & IVY WEDDINGS | After a wee break we are back to reflect and celebrate this July wedding of Laura and Karolis who chose the beauty and grandeur of as the backdrop to their special day.

The brief was simple. They wanted to create a meadow feel to their florals using a palette of cool hues and fresh greens.

OLLIE & IVY FLOWER SCHOOL | Our autumn dates have now been added to our website for our WEEKEND FLORIST programme. This two day course runs across Saturday and Sunday and introduces students to the core elements of contemporary floral design.

Using sustainable and eco-friendly floristry methods, the course offers an intensive look at the art of floristry, drawing on the key principles of design and applying these to a mix of Individual and group based projects.

The course encourages creative thinking in our beautiful atelier in Edinburgh and allows students to develop their own floral artistry in an informal and inclusive environment. Classes are kept small in number to ensure plenty of one to one teaching by our experienced and expert Paris-trained principal floristry teacher.

This course beginner friendly and is ideal for any would-be florist or those with a simple love of flowers. So why not come and join us this autumn and begin your floral journey.

OLLIE & IVY WEDDINGS | It has been a busy weekend at Ollie & Ivy towers and the final crescendo was the evening reception of the wedding of Elly and Max at the elegant Portrait Gallery

Utilising a cool colour scheme, inspired by our Impressionist’s Palette arrangement, the couple chose a range of blues, lilac, purple, ivory and wine to complement their own attire and that of the venue.

The key creation was our Sweetheart Table floor display, styled to emphasise the informality of the design, the flowers whimsically twist and meander upwards to create a meadow vibe.

OLLIE & IVY WEDDINGS | Summer finally arrived last weekend and we were delighted to showcase its presence with these beautiful sunflowers for the wedding of Darren and Caroline who married in Edinburgh.

This iconic venue was brought to life by these warm summery hues of yellow, ivory, pink and blush, utilising a blend of Mediterranean olive greens.

The happy couple were delighted with these designs and after the event contacted us to say

“The flowers were fantastic! The attention to detail and love put in the floral displays was superb and the whole floral service was spot on.”

OLLLE & IVY WEDDINGS | We had a lovely time helping Conner and Mac celebrate their special day back in May . Having travelled all way from Louisiana, USA, the couple chose to wed amongst a small group of close family and friends whilst here on vacation.

Utilising a palette of creams, white and ivory, the flowers created a fresh vibe, particularly when nestled in our handmade mixed foliage table runner.

OLLIE & IVY WEDDINGS | It was a pleasure to be part of Mike & Victoria’s wedding last weekend . Having come all the way up from Surrey, Edinburgh did not disappoint when it came to the weather!

For the flowers, a mixed palette of blush, ivory, pink and burgundy was brought together with some lovely fresh lime greens. This really was an early summer romantic vibe with lots of seasonal stems and a very dreamy feel.

OLLIE & IVY WEDDINGS | It was a pleasure to be part of Bryony and Andrew’s wedding at Barnbougle Castle this April. What a celebration they had in such beautiful surroundings. The couple chose a palette of early summer vibes of blush, champagne, ivory and n**e, with a touch of burgundy, mixed with a healthy offering of wonderful foliage and spring lime greens.

OLLIE & IVY WEDDINGS | We kicked off the wedding season this Easter in style at the magnificent in Edinburgh, with the beautiful marriage of Jaz and Ben.

Fresh Spring vibes were the order of the day, using subtle tones of yellow, ivory, blue and lime green to create a sophisticated but natural feel to the floral arrangements in this grand and historic venue.

With the only stipulation being we incorporated textured stems of blue thistle and rosemary, we included a mix of parrot tulips, buttercup roses, oxypetalum, bupleurium, tanacetum and tall striking delphiniums to create a gardenesque and meadow feel to the designs.

We wish the happy couple all the very best in their new chapter together.

OLLIE.& IVY FLOWERS | Our two-day WEEKEND FLORIST course is a great introduction to all things floral and allows you to learn the fundamentals of working fresh and dried flowers.
