ARCHITECTURE Winner / The Ross Fountain - Architectural Lighting / Foto-Ma Lighting Architects and Designers / Gavin Fraser The new lighting designed to light the restored Grade A Listed, Ross Fountain in Edinburgh's West Princes Street Gardens utilises low energy, state of the art, waterproof IP68 LED warm white lighting with all spotlights integrated into the fountain structure and submerged within the fountain pools.....

This was a real challenge, lighting the State Dining Room collection to Museum and Gallery standards using TM Lighting LED picture lights. 38 paintings and only 11 or so existing wall power points. The paintings are wifi dimmed using a RAKO WIFI DALI dimming modules hidden behind the paintings and the compex cabling to link groups of paintings off closest power point are hidden within the Victorian picture hanging suspension chains. Various lighting settings are set for daily public viewing through to special dining events. g

Our State Dining Room holds an impressive collection of 36 family portraits. The oldest painting dates back to the 16th Century. It is wonderful to see how styles have changed through the generations.

Thirlestane Castle is open for tours until the 26th September, Sunday - Thursday, 10am - 4pm.
