Introducing tonight’s Bedlam Late - ‘The Dugglin Family Band: Past Our Bedtime Party!’
Making their long-anticipated Edinburgh debut, it’s everyone’s favourite quintessential 20th-century family band: The Dugglins! Join them as they play you some of their chart-topping greatest hits, introduce some of the best alt-comedy acts from across the Fringe, and then tuck you into bed whilst wearing heavily starched night-caps and striped pyjamas.
Starring Papa Dugglin (Alice Cockayne – British Comedy Guide Recommended Show 2023),
Mamma Dugglin (Nathan Charles – **** goodreads),
Daughter Dugglin (Holly Spillar – ***** West End Best Friend),
Son Dugglin (Sam Dodgshon – ***** The Scotsman),
and of course Granny Dugglin (Maria Telnikoff – ***** Everything Theatre).
Expect laughs. Expect frolics. Expect songs. Expect a good-old-fashioned-family-oriented-fun-time-party.
Introducing ‘A Girl Gets Naked In This’
Inspired by real life experiences in the bedroom, an all-women group of writers and performers brings you a series of monologues about s*x: from mohawks in Spain to water pistols (where? we’re not telling!). Come see the show male audiences are calling ‘actually quite funny’ and ‘not just a bunch of women prattling on like I thought it would be’. Girls really do get naked in this! Hailed by The Student as ‘heartbreaking, hysterical, and everything in between’, A Girl Gets Naked In This is a show like no other.
Introducing ‘Black Velvet’
“You know, I never liked flowers for graves. They’re just this morbid reflection of death, as if this place needs any more of that...”
When Llew arrives at the graveyard with flowers for his Mum, the last thing he expects to find is a feisty, possibly feral girl hijacking his night. Llew can’t stand her cynicism and Aoife thinks he’s an eejit, but the two are apparently stuck with each other, with nothing in common but grief. As heart-warming as it is heart-wrenching, Black Velvet is a new dark comedy about time moving forward when it feels like everything should stop.
Introducing ‘Voices of a Siren’
Award-winning solo performance about women over three generations. A mystic siren calls out from distant shores to take the audience on an astral journey of healing, forgiveness and reconciliation. The awakening of the feminine within through monologues, dance, chanting and live music liberates a past bo***ge and leads to spiritual metamorphosis.
Introducing tonight’s Bedlam Late - ‘Carnifølk: A Mythical Cabaret’
It’s the mythical folk q***r cabaret of your dreams; it’s time to meet the Carnifølk. Set in the 1200s one can expect the likes of drag kings, medieval characters, magical musicians and playful quests (interactive games). If you’re lucky you will catch performances from the likes of … SPUD, a farmer that believes they’re a potato, BLARVIN, a drunken wizard, PIP, the fearless-not-so-tall giant, DANCING GOBLINS and much MORE.
You may win niblets (Carnifølk currency) which you can trade in for hand-made trinkets (aka Earrings) at the end of the night. Quests include Spud’s infamous tater race, helping Blarvin form his notorious Band Of Blarvs and Gnome couple counselling. Clearly this is not a night to miss.
Carnifølk is a q***r community of creatives who host events across the UK full of live music, immersive theatre and magical quests. As seen in London, Manchester, Bristol, Boomtown and European Festivals including Château Perché. For one night and one night only join the Carnifølk for their Edinburgh debut.

Introducing ‘Tom Whiston: The Dandy Daniels’
This is a tale of friendships lost, and learning to live with a present that isn’t as rosy as the past. It’s also the story of a barbershop singer who was kicked out of his quartet for stage-diving. The Dandy Daniels were the best quartet in the biz, but when lead singer, Jimminy D McSeventh is ousted for stage-diving, he has to look elsewhere for barbershop fulfilment.
Brand-new character comedy from Tom Whiston ‘Twisted humour, smart and ludicrous’ **** (GutterCulture.com); ‘Hilarious’ (FourthWallMedia.wordpress.com); ‘This is what the Fringe is all about’ (SeeDoEatReview.com).
Introducing ‘Oedipus Doesn’t Live Here Anymore’
Muthaf**ka! Literally. A darkly funny piece, Oedipus Doesn’t Live Here Anymore guides us through classic mythology with a new lens. When the neighbours of sleepy suburbia see Oedipus’ garage smeared with incriminating graffiti, we’re led on a tale of desperation, gossip, and reputation. An exploration of how we tell stories and what they tell us about ourselves; it’s sure to keep the whole town talking.
Introducing ‘Love Is…’
Rom-coms are strange things. They’re often our go-to watch for comfort viewing and we like how they make us feel all gooey inside. They’re also a little bit cursed in their regressive attitudes towards gender, s*xuality, and the systems of power that govern our lives.
Written by Fiasco Jones using an Artificial Intelligence trained on 100 rom-coms, Love Is... is…
A q***r experimental sci-fi show;
An exploration of technology, capitalism, and art;
A love letter to and takedown of the rom-com.
Introducing ‘Immanuel Kant Was A Real Pissant’
Who are we? Why are we here? What’s all this about? Philosophy tries to answer these questions. It’s been trying for over two and a half thousand years. But now we finally have the answer. This cathartic and irate one-person show exposes the contradictions and absurdities of this discipline older than maths that was, once, at the core of the way we live.
More reviews for our fabulous shows! Don’t miss the final chance to catch some of our week one shows tomorrow!

Introducing tonight’s Bedlam Late - ‘blokenite’
A drag king night celebrating weird blokes.
Lads, I know these days we’re all feeling the pressure to be s*xy boys – rock hard abs, bulging cod pieces, cheekbones you could juice a lemon on. But where’s the space to celebrate the ordinary, everyday weird blokes?? Blokes who like cycling, doing DIY, up close magic and drinking a nice warm pint of ale.
This night is a safe space for blokes to be blokes, showcasing the best weird drag kings and character comedians on the scene. Come for the acts, stay for the fellowship. We might even have a cry together afterwards.
Hosted by London Cycling Man and Howard (Kathy Maniura and Ellie BW).
