What a great birthday present…. I’ve just heard that the Tron Kirk Market will reopen tomorrow (Friday 28th June). Opening hours will be 10-5. After a month-long wait, it would be really great to see you if you fancy popping in.
Loads of you have been asking when the will be re-opening after the recent emergency building works. The answer is, hopefully, fingers and toes crossed, later this week 🤞🏻. It’s felt like the longest two and a bit weeks ever!
I’ll post again when we’ve got a definite date 💛
It’s a day away from work, taking little Pushkin to the wonderful Dick Vet hospital for his chemo review and check-up. Long waits are not the most fun, but they do make for good snack windows, which we spent at the lovely . Just waiting now (again) to take the little man home for treats and rest (both of us). 🩷🦁
Keeping everything crossed that we’ll hear some good news about the re-opening next week. In the meantime, I’ve been working on some new small original pieces under Pushkin’s careful supervision. 💚
Having a strange and uncomfortably quiet week, while the Tron Kirk Market remains closed, pending building repairs 😢.
Took advantage of some time in the garden this afternoon to photograph my new mugs, beautifully printed in Edinburgh by Doricmor. This one is my current favourite.
A bit of a change to today’s plans! The Tron Market has had to close due to falling masonry last night, and we’re waiting for the council to do their safety inspections before we know more. Thankfully nobody was hurt. I’ll keep you updated as & when I know more.
WE ARE OPEN! After weeks of hard work, my new selling space at the Tron Kirk Market is now open!!
I’m so excited to be here amongst what is a fantastic community of artists, under the amazing care of .
Huge thanks to everyone who has helped me recently - you know who you all are. It’s been a bumpy road getting here, but we did it! 💛
Open 7 days from 10am to 6pm
I’m really happy to be able to share this beautiful video by National Trust for Scotland about the re-opening of Craigievar Castle (aka The Pink Castle) and the special product range they commissioned to accompany their beautiful new Pink Castle Tartan. I was blown away to be asked to design a range of jewellery for the collection, and I spent the first few months of this year designing and making the range. I’ll be sharing more about the products and the process soon, but in the meantime, enjoy the video! 🩷
Not long now until I unveil my lovely new selling space - on Saturday 1st June 💛 🎉.
Things are all over the place at the moment (including me), but everything will come together and I’m so excited about seeing all my products in place and joining the amazing, creative community of artists and designers there.
On a related note, I’ve been blown away by the response to my Tron Market job advert. I’m sorry if you haven’t heard from me yet - I will get back to you! 💛
🌟ANNOUNCEMENT & JOB OPPORTUNITY🌟
From the start of June, I’m taking on a permanent selling space within the thriving Tron Kirk arts market!
Having just opened last year, the Tron market has already established itself as one of the most-visited places on the Royal Mile.
I’m looking for someone with retail experience and a passion for promoting locally-made products to work two days per week: 10am-6pm on Sundays and Mondays (more hours may become available).
If you’re interested in working with me, please drop me a DM or email me at: [email protected].
I’m so excited about this new chapter for my business, and having grown up on the Royal Mile, it’s especially meaningful! ❤️
I’m getting into this not cutting the grass thing. But seriously, the amount of wee creatures we’re noticing every day is really nice, not to mention the surprise wildflower appearances (I don’t mean the dandelions, but I like them, too).
The peonies at the studio are still putting on a ridiculously lovely show, three weeks after I bought them. 🌺
I sometimes wish my studio was more photogenic. It’s basically a big, long, cold box with no windows and quite a few pigeons, which have made a home somewhere in the space between me and the sky. BUT, I’m grateful for what it offers me: an affordable space away from home, to make my products and store the huge array of stuff required to do that. And when I’m lucky, I can sit down and have coffee and be in a creative headplace. But maybe one day, a window would be nice. 🤔 🐦 ☕️
A framed first edition of my new Midcentury Forms print which I made for a lovely customer this week.
Frames are available on all A4 & A5 prints on my website, handy if you’re giving it as a gift or if you’d just like to avoid the faff of framing it yourself!
WORKSHOP SPACES >> Fancy spending this Saturday with me at my studio learning Linocut printing? Two spaces have just opened up due to a cancellation.
Booking link in stories and also tagged here. ❤️
Thank you for all your orders since I started the weekend discount offer 🩵. It runs until midnight tonight (Sunday).
I popped into the studio this morning to start a few orders off, then home for some garden therapy time. It’s been a while since I’ve had a ‘proper’ garden and it’s proving very useful for keeping me from working day and night!
Pushkin is loving his garden life, too. His energy and general Pushkin-ness have returned after his radiotherapy, which has been amazing. It’s so difficult with cats to know how they really are, though. One thing’s for sure - the birds will be happy he’s no longer a high-jumper!
Hope you have a peaceful Sunday.
New collection alert! 🔔
My new Midcentury modern range of art and home gifts is now available on my retail and wholesale websites (and also on ).
If you know my work then you’ve probably spotted that my love for Mid. Mod. design has long been an influence, but I decided to create a whole new collection with my interpretation of this exciting design period placed front and centre.
I’d love to know what you think, and if there are other products you’d like to see in the new designs?
As a continued thank you for all your orders and support, there’s 10% off all orders on my website this weekend (not wholesale, sorry!). No code required. If you’re a subscriber, then a wee newsletter update will have just been sent to you with the details.
Hope it’s a bright and sunny weekend for you, wherever you are. Jenni X
I’ve been working on this one for a couple of days. Lines, layers, shapes, more lines, layers, etc. I wasn’t sure about this colour combo at first, but it’s grown on me (mustard and green aren’t usually my go-to).
Thanks for all the lovely comments this week about the new designs. Truth is, it’s a bit of a distraction game. Little Pushkin is in hospital all this week having radiotherapy every day. Unfortunately, his cancer has returned with an infuriating vengeance, so it’s now a case of trying stabilise him for as long as possible. The vets have been amazing and have texted every day with updates, but the house feels empty without him. All being well, he’ll get home on Friday and we’ll see what’s what then. His resilience is quite humbling.
In the meantime, I’ll keep designing! 💛
Some details from today’s design adventures…
A big cycle this morning along the coast and a trip to the studio to print up another new design I’ve been working on. This one was made from shapes cut out from textured papers and some drawing with a white acrylic pen. I had to fight the urge to fill the whole thing in with details. I still might. But this is how it looks at the mo.
Legs and head are feeling better for the bike time 🚲. Coffee and biscuits are calling now..
This week I’ve been giving myself time to start creating a new series of form-based designs, diving back into to my passion for Midcentury-style shapes and colours in a (hopefully) new & updated way. A lot of the work I’ve been creating recently has been quite narrative-y, and I quite fancy creating new range of products devoted entirely to colour and pattern. It’s where I feel the most me!
It’s been another pretty heavy week of vet hospital appointments, so having a nice new, blank, design space to put my head into has been just the ticket.
Lying low today after catching a pesky bug, but it’s a chance to rest after running a busy print workshop yesterday (my first in nearly 5 years… yikes!). It was a happy day, full of laughs, stories and, of course, printing. Thanks again to my lovely students who took part.
If you’re keen to dip your toes into the wonderful and varied world of Linocut printing, I’ve added six new evening taster sessions to my website, covering lots of different project ideas and techniques to get started (and hopefully hooked!).
Hope you’re having a restful Sunday. 🌼🩷

A big batch of colour being prepared today for . I’m often asked where I get my products made and the simple answer is, pretty much everything (except tea towels) is made, printed and packaged by me in my small East Lothian workshop.
Cuff bracelets have become a firm favourite since I started making them 7 years ago and they’re one of my favourite things to produce. They’re hypo-allergenic and can be easily adjusted to fit. The gift boxes are recycled and recyclable, with an info card made from recycled studio waste. ♻️
As if by magic, my first day off in ages and it’s a beautiful morning. Thanks to everyone who came to visit me yesterday at the Summerhall spring market, and to Silky Moons Jewelry for her top company all day. It’s been a full-on few weeks since moving house and a day amongst maker pals and their beautiful creations was just what I needed. X
That’s the doors open at the Spring Market! Find me upstairs in the Dissection Room with a cool bunch of folks. Open 11-5 today with free entry. 💛
