Interested in songwriting? Free four video series - https://mailchi.mp/ee8df0ab1d3c/interested-in-songwriting-free-four-video-series-8253002
Songwriters! I have a free four-part video series on songwriting that addresses some of the challenges that come up most often for songwriters I've worked with:
- how to get unstuck and finish songs
- how to get ideas for songs
- how to fix something that's not working in a song
- how to sequence the ideas in your song so that they connect most effectively with the listener.
The link to get the four-part series is here

I'm going to be a guest this evening at 6pm on Tommaso Zillio's channel (internet legend Music Theory For Guitar) and we'll be talking about how to go from a story to a song - how you can 'tell a story' with the musical elements of a song

It's easy to get stuck a rut with your chord playing! At the start of learning guitar, it's pretty apparent that we need to learn open chords in order to play any songs. Then there are barre chords and power chords. Then what?
It can be hard to know:
a) What even exists in terms of chord vocabulary
b) Out of all the possible chords you could learn, which will help YOU at this stage in your playing sound the way you want to? There's no point learning 90 ways of playing an A7 altered chord if that's not a sound that features in the music you want to play or create.
If you have been playing the same chords the same ways for a while, come along to the live stream Diana's doing at 5pm GMT today with special guest Simon Candy of Acoustic Guitar Lessons Online. Our topic is 'Five Ways To Level Up Your Chords'. Simon has great material that's simple to apply whatever your level and he will also be giving something away.

Which movable scale pattern should I learn first on guitar? My vote is always for the pentatonic string pairs.
These are incredibly useful! They are basically a get out of jail free card for your fretboard.
With one little pattern, you can cover the whole fretboard. They learn themselves very well to be using slides and bend and hammer ons.
