Sneak peek of a project we're working on for our lovely client who has asked us to design the garden whilst the architects are re-working the internals. This will ensure the spaces work cohesively and the materials will flow inside and out. There's a lot to pack into this space but we've made it work!

They're booked in for a build date in Spring 2025!

Could everyone please spare a thought today for BowieC who saw fit to leave a 1 star review for us on Google this morning and to upload a photo of Colin unloading the van.

This week’s project is a new driveway for clients on Lanark Road, for those who are unaware Lanark Road is one of the busiest streets in Edinburgh and a cycle lane was installed as part of the council’s spaces for people project during Covid (have yet to see a cyclist use the lane but that’s another matter entirely!).

What BowieC seems upset about is that the van is parked on the pavement - although I’m not 100% sure as he left no words to his review, (pretty much how I felt when I saw it).

Until we can produce a magic wand - or afford a helicopter - we unfortunately need to occassionally offload from the back of a van and will try to cause as little disruption as possible whilst doing so (see the time the photo was taken).

What BowieC doesn’t see is a man who was up at the crack of dawn to pick up supplies so he could offload them (cycle lane remember!), without causing too much obstructions to other road users. You’ll see there is virtually no traffic on the road - it’s before 8am!

He also doesn’t see the most hardworking, dedicated man who is currently working 7 day weeks and up to 12 hour days to try and get our schedule back on track for our waiting clients, after what feels like 6 months of solid rain.

He doesn’t see the man who is physically and mentally knackered as he runs a business (and has done for the past 20+ years) in these difficult financial times where it seems HMRC take more of our income than he himself does.

He doesn’t see a man who puts his heart and soul into his work and has the stamina of an ox when it comes to getting sh*t done.

Throwback to this garden project we worked on a while back...
Our clients had these amazing sculptures commissioned for them by sculptor Colin Wilbourn but they had been plonked on, rather than placed in, the garden.
We added the 3 sizes of Taxus balls as I wanted it to look like there were other 'apples' which had fell onto the ground. I'm really pleased with how they turned out and check how the sun bounces off them just wonderfully!

A recently completed front garden makeover designed and installed by us using ECCOgravel to the driveway at the front of this lovely Blackhall home. New sandstone paths, decorative touches and planting to add the all important softness. ➡️swipe for the before shot➡️ The entire area is now completely porous and well equipped for heavy rain showers as well as being practical and pretty.

Throwback to this driveway installation in EH4 last year. Due to the expanse of the driveway we designed it to include these gorgeous tumbled granite cobble strips to add textural contrast and break the area up. Our friends at GlassFibre Productions created the bespoke planters finished in classic black which house lovely Acer trees and simple underplanting for simplicity and repetition. The gorgeous lights highlight the cobble bands as well as providing a practical solution to illuminating the space.

An oldie but a goodie. Still looking sharp 6yrs on.

Contemporary porcelain paving slabs with contrasting rendered finish raised planter beds to create a stylish transition space between extension and garden.

Serious car envy over here! Our client has shared a photo of their new Supercar on their new driveway. Some tweaks to the lighting required and the trees and plants need to fill out but we hope you’ll agree it all looks stunning! Thank you Mr M!

So amazing to see a driveway we designed and built a few years ago on screen whilst watching a series on Netflix!
