At 3pm on the 23rd April, the UK Emergency Alert Service test will take place.
Some interesting questions have been raised in relation to the service. One consideration is victims of domestic violence, who may have a secret phone which they do not want to be activated.
We've been considering the alerts in Crowded Spaces. Currently there is no guidance for alert of risk to life in a crowded space. We encourage all our members and colleagues to consider the impact these alerts could have during event.
We'll continue to discuss this with members and beyond as we roll out.

The AM Phillip Trucktech Snowman Rally partners with Carbon Positive Motorsport, to provide carbon offsetting for this year’s event.
The AM Phillip Trucktech Snowman Rally will be the first Scottish Rally Championship event of 2022 to take steps to minimize its carbon footprint through certified carbon offsetting projects.
Carbon Positive Motorsport was launched last year and provided offsetting to competitors at all levels of the sport, including current British Rally champion Matt Edwards, former Scottish Rally Champion Jock Armstrong and the 2021 Scottish Ladies Rally Champion Ashleigh Morris.
The company who provides carbon offsetting for motorsport events, teams, competitors, and spectators, will provide carbon positive levels offsetting for all the rally organisation vehicles on the event itself. This level of offsetting will provide, 25% more carbon offsetting in the future than is generated today through the fuel use associated with their participation.
To further reduce the events environmental impact, Carbon Positive Motorsport are also offering all competitors and spectators a 20% discount on their standard web shop prices, to encourage all to help the event bring a positive environmental impact.
Snowman Rally Clerk of the Course Andy Jardine said “Rallying has to move with the times and expects to be challenged on its green credentials as the world comes to terms with climate change. Until such times that electric vehicles are commonplace in motorsport, we have to accept that the best option available is to offset the fossil fuel used. This year is our first step on this journey of offsetting, and we look forward to working with Carbon Positive Motorsport to make a difference.”
Carbon Positive Motorsport director, and former Snowman Rally competitor, Paul Glass said ‘We are delighted to support this year’s event and live up to our purpose to help make motorsport sustainable for future generations to enjoy. Wherever possible we work with an event by using local rewilding-based offsetting projects and not overseas schemes, such quality of projects creates greater environmental benefits than offsetting alone. I’m pleased that we will be supporting the Snowman Rally using woodland carbon code certified projects based at Loch Ness’’.
From 28th February 2022 until 7th March 2022 the 20% discount can be redeemed at carbonpositivemotorsport.com using the following codes: Competitors SR22C or Spectators SR22S.
Happy St Andrew’s Day to all our friends
HAPPY St. ANDREWS DAY
St Andrew was a disciple of Jesus..
St Andrew was crucified on a cross (Saltaire)
Before battle with the English army, a Pictish king is said to have had a vision of St Andrew, and on the morning of the battle, clouds like a white cross where seen against a blue sky.
The saltire flag was born from this.
Are you a single lady looking for a husband?
Do this today....
If you peel an apple without breaking the skin, and throw it over your shoulder, it helps find the love of your life. And if the peeling formers a letter, it's said to be your future partners initial.
Also if you hear dogs barking, the direction of the sound is where your prospective partner will be.
The saltire flag is one of the earliest known national flags in the world.

❓ Round 2! The Purpose of a Medical Plan 🤔
Answers in the comments 👍
The most important part of the Medical Plan is the Medical Needs Risk Assessment, which decides the level and type of medical service required and it should therefore involve communication between the organiser, the medical provider and external emergency services.
However, can you tell us:
What is the main aim of a Medical Plan?
A. To ensure you have appropriately trained staff.
B. To provide a safe, effective service on site.
C. To minimise the impact on NHS resources.
