It's going to be another beautiful sunny day tomorrow, Sunday 15th Sept, so why not pop down, or up, & visit Downfield Windmill in Soham. They're holding a Fun Day & Craft Fair in the garden, plus the Windmill will be open to explore & learn the history of this grade II* listed building. You also get great views of the countryside from the Windmill. Open 11am-3pm. Entry £2 Adult. £5 Family. Refreshments are also available.
Featuring tunes from stage and screen, some popular classics and commemorating the 84th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
The RAF Honington Voluntary Band will also be accompanied for some numbers by performers from Viva Arts and Community Group. Tickets available from elycathedral.org/events

The festival is taking place this Sunday 2nd June 2024 on Soham Recreation Ground from 11:30am until 6pm, is headlined by the 90s boyband FIVE. Additional acts on the main stage include X Factor star Andy Abraham, 80’s revival singer Nancy Ann Lee, rock guitarist and singer Ed Cusick, and Sammy Magic and his magic show. The event will also introduce the new local group Viva Vocal Vibes.
SoFest offers families huge value for money, with a range of activities worth over £68 per person. A group of two adults and two children (family ticket is £80) will save nearly £200 compared with having to pay for each activity separately, as everything is included in the entry fee.
As well as the main stage attractions, there will be two family theatre shows, including a ‘puppet petting farm’. Five fairground attractions will be offering unlimited rides, including inflatables, bumper cars and trampolines.
Festival goers will also be invited to take part in craft and creative activities, and crowds will be further entertained by balloon modellers, children’s character entertainers, musicians and face painters. Did you know I sell bird food?! If not you do now 😁 Birdseed, white sunflower seed, fatballs, peanuts, & mealworms. Plus Budgie seed, millet & bird sandpaper. All £1 a bag except the millet spray which is £3.99 for a big bag of about 15 sprays. Sandpaper is 40p a sheet. Also, while stock lasts, I have packs of free hedgehog food to give out, kindly donated by Anita Nixon at Hedgehogs Corner for Hedgehog awareness month 🦔🦔
