It was the twins birthday yesterday and so I baked for the first time in weeks! I have 3 boxes of rocky road left over (I always bake extra!) - £20 a box (galaxy and malteaser with Oreo and Belgian milk chocolate). Xx

These are only my personal photos but I was lucky enough to create the dessert table and wedding cake for my cousin Clive and his stunning bride Dannie! The most beautiful autumn wedding I’ve ever been to!!
Thank you to halo blossom flowers for setting it all out and adding the florals so I could dash off to get ready to attend as a guest! I was so pleased with this especially the toffee apples considering my first time making them!!

So, an update …
In the current financial climate, I can’t see how people are going to afford the prices that my cakes will need to increase to, to make it a viable business. I have always ran as a professional business - certificated appropriately and all products costed so I know my costs and profit margins. This has meant that locally I am one of the more expensive cake artists. I don’t feel I can compromise my choice of ingredients as in taste tests I can tell the difference.
Therefore, I have decided to remain teaching for the foreseeable future and I have deregistered from the council.
If things change I may return in the future but will likely re-brand under my name. Would you believe that initially, I was scared to use my name in my business because I was scared I wasn’t good enough as a baker, and that I just wanted a quiet local customer base with less attention. I have grown in confidence and I’m so proud of what I have achieved here. I have trained with four of the best uk and international cake artists in the world and that training won’t go to waste. What I learned won’t disappear - it’s just on pause.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me. I can’t put into words what your support has meant.
I will still post cakes. I will be baking for friends and family. I’m really excited about my cousin’s wedding cake in a couple of weeks time. I have the opportunity to explore and have fun here again now - making the kinds of cakes I want to with more freedom.

‘Under the sea’ Cupcake class -
Tuesday 16th August - children 5-11 years
Morning class 10-12pm
Afternoon class 1-3pm
Children will be taught a few different techniques and have freedom to explore their own creativity. The will bring home a box of their creations and a certificate.
Air conditioned studio and all equipment and ingredients included.
Limited spacing - £40 per session (DM to book and payment to secure place).
Fully DBS checked and I hold Qualified Teacher Status (BEd Hons - 1st class)

I’m planning on running some themed children’s cupcake decorating classes during the next couple of weeks. Keep watching for details xx

Collection times will be Saturday after 1pm and Sunday after 1 pm (doughnuts are fresh each day).

Chocolate overload Christening cake 🥰

Many congratulations to Lynn and Joff Sharman on their wedding day yesterday. You all looked beautiful and I really enjoyed our consultations. Another thank you to Wendy from Posh Petals for the flower base. The wedding flowers were beautiful!

I don’t often make children’s cakes anymore because they can be really time consuming for little profit. This one was important to me though because it was for my cousin’s daughter’s fifth birthday, the first one without her mum. Two days work to create but so worth it! I was really choked up when I finished it - have a lovely day and party Amy and all the love in the world 💕 I think you would have loved this one Mel 💕

Thank you for being patient waiting for replies and for the messages I have missed. This year has been a whirlwind of covid, op’s and bereavement 😔. I’m planning to catch up over Easter and plan what cakes I’ll take on for the summer season onwards. Thank you again xx

Chocolate sponge with a light chocolate buttercream and milk chocolate ganache.

It was an honour and a privilege to make my terminally ill cousin her early 40th birthday cake last night. She will be 40 in June but she decided to move her party to last night so that could celebrate with her family and friends one last time.
She is showing amazing strength and courage. It was a bitter-sweet night with tears but also love in abundance plus lots of dancing.
It is a testament to how loved she is how many people attended and sent messages to her. Thank you everyone.
I love my family so much - love is everything!
