Some brand developments for Monday’s logo design 🍃

Photo edits are my new doodles…

Before when I faced creative block, I would simply just draw. Anything and everything. Just to get ideas forming on the page.

But now, photo editing is my doodling ✏️

Making photo edits is a great way to engage with creativity and simply just explore different visuals without the pressure of a brief. I keep an open mind and I try to be inspired by the process. I experiment, make a mess, push boundaries … just like I do when faced with a blank canvas or piece of scrap paper.

But for an artist or a designer, starting off with a blank surface can be incredibly frustrating and intimidating, so much so that even passive doodling can be a thought-heavy task.

I have found with photo editing, it is easier to express creativity passively as there is already a visual to build upon. Perhaps I add to the existing visual, or perhaps I completely turn the whole thing on its head!

Whilst photo editing is a form of art in itself, I would certainly encourage people to experiment with photo edits for both inspiration and to remove that creative block!

I had SO MUCH FUN creating this branding! 🩵🩷🤍

As someone who is always sketching randomly, digitising and using my sketches to help bring a brand to life was immense 😃

With this branding, I really wanted to combine fashion and the cafe products to express ‘the art of food’. This cafe is more of a concept, a piece of art in itself, serving delicious treats whilst also appreciating their aesthetics.

I loved situating these ‘French Ladies’ in this little scene ✨

They look so extra, but don’t lie… I bet you wish you were posing outside a cute French cafe, with a croissant, wearing extravagant hats! I know I do … 😂
