You may have seen us post previously about our work with partners developing affordable housing for local people on #ruralexceptionsites. You’ve probably wondered what the results look like and this video taken by our partners CHS Group gives a real insight. This small, eight dwelling scheme at Harston Road in #Newton (in South Cambridgeshire) has provided much-needed homes for people with an existing connection to the village (through living or working there or having close family locally). You can see that it blends seamlessly into the existing properties at the edge of the village with attractive design, plenty of garden space for people to enjoy and lots of car parking. Cambridgeshire ACRE has been able to extend its work with rural communities to meet more local housing need thanks to funding from Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) via ACRE Action with Communities in Rural England and we look forward to working with our local partners to help more people find affordable homes in the rural communities they know and love.
