Halloween lunch. What are your plans today?

So sad that this is going on our door this year, but not going to let it ruin our Halloween, J is going to dress up and we’ll walk around looking at houses that have decorated/pumpkins and give him a treat when he sees one. Then some Halloween party food. How are you doing Halloween this year?

It’s delivery day today and that means I have a very happy J!!! He absolutely loves the Billy and the mini monsters series so was beyond excited that he’s got 2 new extra books and I’m over the moon that he already has a love of reading!

What time did you get woken up? How did/will you be spending your extra hour?

We went pumpkin picking today, was a first for me. J definitely enjoyed it!

First time in a soft play since before lockdown-someone is VERY happy!!

I’ve lost count how many questions I’ve had so far this morning. Does your little one ask lots too? What’s the best/funniest/worst question you’ve been asked?

We’ve popped out for breakfast, so a mini book thrown in the bag and peace for us! this is just a small example of the minis we do.

I’ve really enjoyed reading Billy and the mini monsters to J at bed time, we’ve both laughed lots, with characters like Captain Snott and Trumpet (who lives up to his name!! 💨) it’s not surprising!! I’ve actually found bedtimes nice again as he’s actually laid still listening and looking at the pictures and we’ve discussed it and guessed what’s going to happen next!! He’s already told me he wants ALL of them!

This would be a great book to read to your child or for confident readers to start reading themselves.

Happy dog day!! I don’t actually have a dog (we have 2 cats) but I love my parents dog. She’s a rescue from Portugal, she’s recently had a dna test.

Just for fun can you guess what she is? 25% one breed, 12.5% another breed and the rest is mixed.

J has moved on to chapter books at night tonight. He was very excited about having a ‘big boy book’ we were only supposed to read one chapter a night but we were both enjoying it so much we read 3!! 😱 definitely makes a nice change to reading the same books over and over!

I love magic painting books, J wanted to paint but I couldn’t handle the mess today, so he’s doing magic painting instead and now we’re both happy!! 😊
