Loved making this for Martin & Michelle last week (happy one week anniversary!!) and lovely to see the fabulous after so long. Yesterday's green and gold beauty for Sarah & Will at the always stunning
Decorated with handmade sugar flowers, with touches of edible gold leaf and a hand painted monogram, this was a dream commission.

Do you know what these magenta coloured sails are made from?
It's rice paper - you know what you use for Vietnamese spring rolls? Strange, I know, but when you wet them, you can then shape them somewhat and leave them to dry and they dry hard. I coloured mine first, some with a dip dye effect so it wasn't one block colour. Added some gold balls, a clear acrylic tier from .options which I filled with fairy lights and a hexagon bottom tier for even more 'different'.
I know this won't be to everyone's taste but I often think of these display cakes like the haute couture fashion shows - a chance to show off different ideas and skills for you to take inspiration from when it comes to planning your dream cake.

Made especially for Showcase last week, this showstopper included a square bottom tier, a split tier inspired by , luxurious dark greens and golds, stencils by and of course, my speciality sugar flowers (roses and peonies) with rich green sugar foliage.
What I love about showing these designs is that you can pick and choose the elements you love, change up the colours, add some personalisation and you have something completely bespoke. Let me know what your favourite part of this cake is for you! 👇

This weekend I delivered my biggest cake so far (plus a Groom's cake and 165 biscuit favours) 300 miles away in the Lake District 😱
Thankfully all went well... the whole wedding was nothing short of epic.
