A potential guest asked what our garden looked like now in late Autumn. So I took photos this afternoon on a grey, cloudy day and decided I am extremely fortunate to live here and that I have an amazing garden team. There is also a lot of beauty in clouds although the colour of our Liquidambar tree was much more intense in the last photo which was taken yesterday in the sun. The same tree is in the second photo.
No two days are ever the same here. Today we are replacing our pool doors and a window. We have been very impressed with Dovetail Joinery - Pershore Ltd.
We are also putting cement into our alpaca shelters. The cement lorry got stuck in one of old fields so we had to help make a very long pipe. Hopefully once the cement has been unloaded the reduction in mass/weight will mean the lorry is able to move.
Whatever is happening Antonia, our head of planting is always smiling.
Our gardens were planted for all year round interest. In October it is all about Asters, Nerines, Kinophofias and crab apples. Our dahlias are still giving impressive flowers and last until the first frost, they take over our raised beds at this time of year.
We have some truly amazing people who work here. Jonno and Konstantyn were smiling despite the torrential rain. We are very fortunate to have them as part of our Bretforton Manor Gardens crew. Our ducks and alpacas were not as happy. It is a fallacy that rain is good weather for ducks, ours spent all day trying to get back into their house. Bless our alpacas, today was a long cry from the warm, dry Peruvian hills they originated from.
What an incredible day yesterday, easily the most people we have ever had through our gates. A huge shout out to the amazing Bretforton Show team there is so much that happens behind the scenes. The organisation behind it is meticulously run by Kate Buckham.
We hope most people enjoyed it. Well done to all the prize winners (including some of our own). We were so busy on the day we didn't take many photos. So please send us some of your best ones (email to [email protected] or post on Facebook).
Lovely twilight photos of our alpacas from our large field, which has amazing views with the Cotswold Hills in the background. They were taken by my owners daughter Charlotte. If you want to meet them - book via our website www.bretfortonmanor.co.uk

Our alapcas loved seeing the children of Bretforton close up today. The weather held off so we were able to have a picnic.
It was lovely to host this family group from San Diego today. It was a large group for us of 10, many thanks Michelle for all your help and expertise. I was really proud of my new boys Merry and Lego, they have graduated from training and walked beautifully for the young cousins Zoe and Sebastian. Sarah, the granny, had a way about her and really calmed Eeyore. The rest of the family (alpacas and Americans) did really well. They ended their experience with a trip to the The Fleece Inn, Bretforton.
Our alpacas hope you can come and have a picnic with them.
An invite for Bretforton villagers. Very short notice but our Alapcas would love you to join them for a picnic if you are free next Saturday 24th August from 1-3pm. Address our field off Back Lane which also faces Bridge Street in Bretforton. Email [email protected] or message via www. Bretfortonmanor.co.uk if you want to come.

Our alpacas have gone where the grass is a lot greener for a summer holiday. Not far
at all, only a 5 min walk away, to our field off Back Lane. It is a lovely field, they stayed close to me for a while and then remembered the wilderness area. The wilderness area is rather special and has amazing views of the Cotswolds Hills. It is a particularly special place of us to do our Meet and Greets.
Don't worry they will be back in their main field, The Butty, in the centre of Bretforton by September. They have become quite an attraction for our villagers in the Butty as it is next to our Bretforton Community Shop and Bretforton Community Social Club.
If you are stuck about what to buy for a loved one. Why not treat them to one of our gift vouchers it can be used for an alpaca experience or a stay at our holiday rental? We have also produced some new flyers for our alpaca experiences.
