Pleased to say that AMDS Consultants Ltd is supporting the next Telford Fore-Business meeting on the afternoon of June 16th at Lilleshall Hall Golf Club with three individual prizes for nearest the pin challenges and one overall prize for the day's winner.

Finally after a couple of month's hiatus due to the sad loss of a key supplier to the Covid pandemic the new and rebranded AMDS Consultants Ltd. website has been launched.

All being well, Christmas will see the launch of the new website for AMDS Consultants Ltd featuring the redrawn business, a selection of case studies and insights as well as a lot of newly updated content.

Succefully passed the BSi ISO 27000 Lead Auditor course this week 👍👍. Full virtual training experience and excellently taught by Phil Brown. Just waiting to hear how the follow-up examine is going to be run.

A brief note to ask visitors to return a little later in the year when we will have completed a major review of our capabilities brochure, online presence and social media strategy

It’s been a while, mainly through 18months working on passenger compensation schemes for two train operating companies. It’s fair to say the implementation at Northern Rail was especially satisfying and led to an uptick in certain passenger satisfaction criteria for a period before it got swamped by other factors.

The main purpose of this note is to emphasise despite Coronavirus and its impact on my personal freedoms AMDS Consultants Ltd is still open for business. We are happy to take commissions that can be executed at our home bases and will be exploiting all forms of electronic communications to facilitate client services.

We will not however be taking anything other than essential face-to-face meetings following the distancing protocols set out yesterday

High intensity project brought to a successful conclusion today with the signing of an agreement to introduce an extra level of compensation for rail passengers travelling in the north of England. All things now in place for the implementation date in just under a week’s time

Well after the postponement caused by Storm Ali in September today is set fair for Penny Morpeth to take her tandem skydive in support of the British Heart Foundation sponsored by AMDS Consultants Ltd

We've been requested to develop a ½-day briefing seminar on GDPR by a legal centre in SE England. As part off the process I've just had a stroll around www.ico.org.uk, there's a lot of good content available for SMEs needing to gain an awareness of what they are going to need to have in place by May 2018, check it out.

Thanks to everyone who has liked the page over the last week, keep an occasional eye on us as I’ll be publishing more thoughts and ideas particularly on all business-orientated areas of information security and data protection.

So busy with chasing and delivering work I often forget to feed the page! Action point do a better job of tending this page!

Meanwhile an interesting thought about combined capabilities struck one of our clients recently. They had been looking for a consultant that could marry real project management with internal audit services for information security and payment systems. After several weeks rejecting cyber specialists or project system disciples they discovered AMDS Consultants through a third party.

We were able to offer the ideal combination they wanted and although the project had been delayed by around 6 weeks we got it back on track and met a critical security systems implementation by the due date.

So if you need support in information security, data protection or payment system implementation look beyond the toolkit carriers and niche technical experts. Instead talk to a company that starts with your enterprise and works with you to achieve pragmatic solutions through real world project management backed up with information assurance competences built up over many years of operating in business critical and/or high risk technical services environments.

Its surprising how things turn out, When I first thought of setting up AMDS Consultants over 6 year ago I didn't expect to find myself working in the fields of cyber, data and information security. Not that I mind these areas represents some of the more intellectually challenging topics in the current business climate - if you ignore the consequences of a hung parliament and Brexit - importantly perhaps these three areas also represent markets where our skills can make a difference.

Well it seems that I've not been feeding the Facebook beast!

Just so everyone knows we are still in business and currently helping local government in Kent become wholly compliant with up coming PCI DSS AND GDPR standards.

We have also successfully concluded projects in support of the 3rd Sector and the national rail network in Scotland. Importantly a significant component of our work in Scotland has been adopted by the transport executive as part of a major procurement programme, unfortunately they haven't had the decency to acknowledge our contribution - using "executive authority" to claim use, but it's not so unusual when you work for national or devolved administrations😡

So FB wants to unpublish there's been no post because we've been writing two major ITTs for a rail company. Both are out the door but the client is so pleased with delivery that they've kept AMDS Consultants on until at least November

Head down tail up writing proposals and thinking - perish the thought. We continue to build alliances with businesses that can add something to our portfolio including a number of SaaS (Software as a Service) companies. More recently we added an interim director and corporate financier to our growing community and have put him in touch with another of our contacts to see if they can work together.

Public sector work has climbed up the agenda again now the budgets have been agreed and we're looking forward to more gainful employment in the information assurance market segment.

Previous concerns about EU referendum putting a hold on things have not wholly come to pass in our field but there was clearly a period at the beginning of April where there was a lot of sucking of teeth and pursing of lips around investing in any kind of technical or business support.

Overall feeling a degree more positive than earlier in the year when very little was happening
