People are being asked to be vigilant after a record number of sightings of the Asian hornet in the UK

While they are no bigger risk to humans than native hornets, they are a threat to honey bees and insect pollinators

The group Wildlife and Countryside Link warned recent flooding and warming temperatures had increased the risk of “problem species” already in the UK growing and spreading

With the change in the weather now is the time that typically rodents are looking for warmth, often found in sheds, houses or out buildings.

If you suspect any rodent activity it's best to deal with it asap, before any damage is caused.

Why control rats?

They carry many nasty diseases which can spread to humans normally through a rats urine or body coming into contact with food preparation areas.

🔴 Toxoplasma gondii
🔴 Hantavirus

Rats have to gnaw to keep their teeth in shape and they're not at all fussy what they gnaw on!
⚡ Sheathing around electrical cables - which is a significant fire risk!
Pipes - which is likely to result in leaks, water or gas.
In fact most things are 'fair game' for rats to gnaw on, wood, metal, bone, brick work, plastic etc.
All of which can cause significant damage to your property not to mention expense.
