Today I have reconditioned this huge solid oak table top.
It was badly water damaged in a house fire whilst also showing signs of being well used.
It has been sanded, smoothed and oiled with superior danish oil - the wood looks re-nourished and like new.
Happy table, happy client ✔️
Happy new year!
I do love a bit of a forage when I decorate my home for Christmas and this year I didn’t have to ramble too far to find some twisted branches, perfect for hanging above my dining table as a feature.
I added fairy lights of course (makes me feel more ‘Nigella’) and some different sized baubles.
…. All the decorations have been packed away into the attic for another year now, but I rather like the branches, so I think I will keep them up as a feature for a while longer.
The baubles are down and I have added gold spoons and forks as a quirky kitchen themed focal point.
I think I kinda like it. What do you think?
(Gold plastic forks and spoons from Amazon £6.99 for a pack of 48 - branches foraged 👌)
The pan/plate rack is finally finished.
After a lot of cleaning and sanding nooks and crannies for what felt like forever, I lightened the look of the wood to a more modern finish and hand painted the pattern for a little bit of interest.
I’m pleased with it, it looks lovely in my own kitchen to be honest 😂
I hope my lovely lady likes it when I hand it back.
This little piece of furniture has helped me decide that a workshop in the garden is a definite must in the new year - the barn is too tiny.
I’m so excited today to make a start on my first commission piece for quite a while.
I have a great idea to make this family heirloom vintage pan stand beautiful, to be worthy of pride of place in my lovely clients kitchen and hopefully the kitchens of generations to come...
3-2-1 …. And off I go again 🔨🪚🪛👏👏👏
Just one woman, still in her pyjamas on a Sunday morning…wondering if her concrete kitchen sub floor could be transformed into a stylish faux limestone tile effect - or whether it’s a DIY money saving step too far 🧐 😘😏
Good afternoon.

(Pic of my upcycled kitchen - we removed the dated wall units and salvaged a scaffold board for a shelf. The lights are made from kilner jars)
Even though technically they hold us up...Today I showed these nasty orange stained beams who's the boss of the barn!
Very pleased with the result 😁
Only about 50 more to go 🙈

You may have noticed it's been a bit quiet on my page recently. This is because we have moved...
I can't wait to share my renovation projects on our little barn conversion in the countryside.
I am so excited to be working in collaboration with Annabell Duke Paints, which because of their vast range of colours and finishings I will be using to transform our home.
You will very soon be able to purchase from me either online from this page (with delivery), or from my new retail space (details to follow).
So... There's a lot to keep me occupied and out of trouble, but even with that in mind, I am ready now to take all your interior commissions and furniture updates, light upholstery projects and of course flower arrangements once again.
Please drop me a message!
I can't wait to pop open the paint pot once again!
(here's a little picture of the owl we found on the side of our barn 🦉)
Reduce, reuse, recycle!

This beautiful mahogany heirloom was terribly damaged in a major house fire 2 years ago...
A very tough challenge to be trusted to try and restore it back to life.
I must say, I'm pretty pleased with this restoration.
It's a wonderful feeling when you save something with sentimental value and deliver it back to a delighted client.

This attractive console table needed a modern lift, to fit in with my clients very stylish home decor.
Originally polished in a mahogany style, I sanded it back and painted it in Frenchic paint in the colour Steel Teal. The little handles were lightly sprayed with gold to make them pop and the drawers were lined.
When you get an SOS!...
"Can you do something with this? It belonged to my mother in law and I hate it!"
Table stripped of the old dark varnish. Sanded and finished with a clear wax. Look how beautiful the wood grain is in this little table. Hidden until now by dark brown varnish.
Now it is a useful, light oak side/lamp table which would fit into any decor.
Spaces available now! Why not bring your furniture up to date? Let me help you with ideas. Get in touch for a quote.
This console table has been sanded and the bottom painted in Farrow & Ball Purbeck Stone. The top has been sanded back to remove the yellow varnish, treated and waxed with white wax and buffed with a final clear wax for protection.
The handles will be replaced by a single k**b on each drawer which my customer will attach herself.
Another transformation complete.
In loving memory..
2 casket arrangements completed ready to go to the funeral directors.
My lovely client was so upset that her beautiful furniture had started to look worn, with white and discoloured patches...
Because her drawers were so very heavy I agreed to do a home visit...all this lovely chest of drawers needed was a good facial treatment.
A good couple of hours of careful sanding, and waxing, (two very welcome cups of coffee) and they are beautiful again. Another satisfied customer.

I have been working on a beautiful, very solid cabinet for a lovely lady who is revamping her living room.
I have matched the green with her planned colour scheme and used a paint technique to darken the shelves to match her other furniture.
I am extremely pleased with how this has turned out. The gold glossy handles add a very classy finishing touch.
A useful but tired cabinet, revamped and looking like new as the feature for a different room. 👌

Please message me if you have furniture you would like bringing to life.
I have loved working on this bureau that used to belong to my lovely clients mum so holds sentimental value and needed some love.
I was given free choice over the re-conditioning, my only brief was that it will go against a dark teal wall.
I'm really pleased with the result.
I'm glad it's coming out of the garage and back in the house to be a useful piece of furniture once again.
Bureaus are great items of furniture to own, especially now that we are moving into remote working more and more.
This bureau just needs a laptop and a mug of coffee and it's a great workspace which can be closed away at the end of the working day.
Please get in touch if you have a piece of furniture you would like upcycled/reconditioned.
Before and after pics below ...
I have been working this week on upcycling and refinishing this beautiful solid pine sideboard (it's almost finished, just the hinges and final sand and wax on top).
It has been completely sanded and painted in Frenchic paint in the colour Salt Of The Earth. I have never used this colour before and I am absolutely in love with it, it's such a classy creamy shade.
I have replaced the old draw pulls and cupboard handles with some gorgeous quartz and gold square contemporary ones which I think look amazing!
If I had enough room in my house, trust me this would be staying!
However I have refinished this piece to fit perfectly in the right space in someone else's home.
It's neutral colour and modern style would suit any room or hallway.
£120. Please message asap if you would like this piece as I am confident it won't be around for long!
(Measurements 104cm wide, 47cm depth, 84cm height)
Is there a home in the UK that doesn't own at least one piece of solid, useful, reliable but also orange and slightly dated pine furniture?
My lovely client has just had all her beautiful parquet flooring done and wanted her drawers and mirror to compliment it.
I stripped and sanded the whole piece including the drawers. I painted the shell and k**bs in sage green chalk paint and waxed the rest with white wax to lighten the natural wood. I then added copper wax to the k**bs to highlight and give an unusual touch.
The mirror was painted to compliment and match.
I'm really pleased with the results.
Another happy pine chest of drawers has had a new lease of life! ✅❤️
