Have you been on your Bear Hunt, faced the Gruffalo and had your fill of The Very Hungry Caterpillar? We would love any of your unwanted children's books for our stall at the library garden event on Sat 8 July to launch this year's Summer Reading Challenge. Plus cake and plant stalls and garden games and bubble machine. 10.30-12.30 - come along have some fun and sign up to the challenge!

Friends of Pinhoe library meeting tonight at 7.15pm at Pinhoe Library, come along if you have fundraising ideas or would like to help raise money for our library. We are a friendly group and you don't need to join to help!

Apologies that the library hasn’t been as active as it could have been for the past few weeks. It has now been restocked and there are some interesting books in there for you to browse!

Our next Bounce and Rhyme session is just around the corner! We have a few places left, let us know if you would like to book 😃

I’ve just been out and restocked the library. Our most popular loan/return is back in there (pic below) and we’ve got some fantastic books for older children/young adults. For those of you starting the new year with a new diet, there are also some slimming world and 5:2 diet cook books in there 😊

Thank you to everyone who has helped us start our little library.

We are now at the point where we’re going to have to ask for no more donations for a few weeks as we have so many lovely books and nowhere to store them when they’re not in the library! Please do continued to return any books you’ve borrowed and don’t wish to keep, but for now, please don’t donate any books. Keep an eye on the page for when we will be opening for donations again, and once again thank you for all the books we’ve already had. We’ve been blown away by the generosity of our community 😍

We’ve added some Christmas children’s books to the library 😊😊😊

Could I please remind our lovely users to pop any returned or donated books in the black bin by the front door of 50 Thackeray road. This is so we can quarantine them before they go out into the library.

Who is your reading hero? it can be a character or a real person. Draw a picture and drop it into Pinhoe Library - we'd love to see who your heroes are.

Something to get children involved in :)

The Winter Mini Challenge which runs from Tuesday 01 December to Friday 15th January encourages children to keep reading through the winter holidays by rewarding them for reading and reviewing books.

With the disappointing news of the vandalism at the Stoke Hill Little Free Library we would like to ask our community to help us protect our little library, be vigilant and aware of anyone lingering or causing damage, if you see anything, report to our PCSO or 101.
Help keep our little library safe...

So pi**ed off with the minority that can't just be decent human beings. My son will be so dissappointed as they were his books. I'll go over and take all the books out and pop a padlock on when I can buy one, small enough. Will have a think about opening hours 😔

Today is the day! We know the weather is frightful but we have trails, a scavenger hunt and some craft packs (that you can do inside or take home).
We also have Usbourne book seller - Maxs bookshop.

How it works

If you see a book you would like to read, take it. Please do not sell books from the Little Library. When you’re finished, keep the book if you loved it, or share it with a friend, bring it back here or leave it in another Little Library!

It’s up to everyone to keep the Little Library full of good reads! Bring books to share when you can. You will find a little black bin by the front door of 50 Thackeray Road (the site of the little library) to put returned or new books in as, due to COVID19, we need to quarantine all in coming books.
