The season began last night with some excellent music from Stick The Fiddle, and some colourful dancers!

The next one is on 28th October, with visiting superstars Vertical Expression.

We had a full room last night to dance to Flash Company, with Pete Langley calling some tricky and excellent dances. The crowd excelled and the room was full of energy and a good buzz! We have one more ceilidh left before the summer break, come and join us on 24th June.

The season got off to a swinging start with a packed hall dancing to Tight Squeeze with Caller Sarah calling. Here are a few photos and short video snippets of the evening. Hope to see you at the next one on 29th October!

On 25th June we danced the night away for the last ceilidh of the season, accompanied by local stalwarts Home Brew with Caller Sarah calling.
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported the series this winter, we start again on 25th September - put it in your diary, spread the word, tell your friends, and let’s make it a good one.

Apologies I was a bit late in creating the event for this month’s ceilidh, but rest assured it is happening as planned and the event is now up, please do share the information. Bands for Exeter Ceilidhs 2021/22 season have now been booked!

The season starts on Sept 25th with Mrs Midnights, and has old favourites like Dartmoor Pixies and Spinach for Norman as well as five new (to Exeter Ceilidhs) bands.

As of March 2021, these events are due to start three months after the government's anticipated "end of social distancing" date. We think that allows plenty of time for deadline slippage, however there remains the possibility that new variants or other factors may cause us to cancel the events, so please keep the dates but also keep checking this website. Fingers crossed!

Here is the Dartmoor Pixie band from tonight, in a little bit of Pixie dust.

We had a record turnout this evening with 80 dancers! The floor was full and the vibe was good, and Flash Company’s music was top notch. Pete Langley has his work cut out for him with quite a few beginners in attendance and many of them hidden at the bottom of the room, but he rose to the challenge (quite literally), and had everyone flying through some pretty tricky dances (but thankfully refrained from flying himself and didn’t fall off the chair). There is no dance in December but we will see you all on the 25th January.

Spinach For Norman played us ably through the second ceilidh of the season tonight, with Pam calling the dances. Next month we have Flash Company on 30th November, save the date now!

This evening got the second season of Exeter ceilidhs off to a smashing start. Rosie Baines called a bunch of our old favourites and we whizzed through many dances as Pigs Might Fly played the tunes at a cracking speed. We had to open the doors to cool off after just 2 dances, and the wind whipped all the flyers across the floor.
