Our new, PercoTop range of premium industrial and automotive paints and coatings offer a comprehensive and flexible coating system for industrial applications suitable for a wide range of environmental exposure upto C5.

The Percotop range of primers and topcoats are available in various qualities from one component acrylic to (1k & 2 component Epoxy or Polyurethane systems to suit different substrates and protection needs.

Additionally, we offer spray applied, easily abraded primer/fillers, primers for difficult substrates such as Stainless Steel or Aluminium, as well as special cleaners and other additives to suit your needs. The speed of cure can be adjusted using fast, standard or slow thinners and/or activators to allow optimal work throughout more suited to the size of the part being painted. The advanced tints and binder systems allow for a vast number of colours to be produced and are available in pack sizes from 1lt thereby eliminating waste.

Painting Galvanised items is not as straight forward as first thought. Choose the wrong type of paint and it will stick at first but will very soon start to peel. This is due to a reaction between the zinc and the binder in the paint causing a reaction called saponification. Saponification is the reaction of an Alkyd or oil based paint with the zinc creating a ‘soapy’ film on the galvanized metal causing the paint to peel pretty quickly.

Axalta’s Modified Vinyl is designed to be applied on to steel and galvanised steel substrates without the need for an etch primer or T wash. Modified Vinyl is a versatile primer/finish system that can be used on new, degreased and abraded galvanised steel. Modified Vinyl has excellent gloss and colour retention and gives good resistance to corrosion, so is an ideal maintenance coating where the zinc on a galvanized element is depleted and rust patches are present.
