⭐Meet Daisy, the recipient of the Lord Myners of Truro Scholarship, on our Penryn Campus. ⭐

The late Lord Paul Myners was a passionate believer in the power of education and at the heart of everything he did was a desire to help others. As Chancellor of Exeter (2016-2021) Paul presided over the graduations of 20,000 students.🎓He was a proud Cornishman and a great supporter of the University of Exeter and University of Exeter Cornwall.

In his honour, the University established the Lord Myners of Truro Scholarships to support undergraduate students from Cornwall, coming from a disadvantaged background, to study at any subject at any of the University’s campuses.

💬 Speaking about the impact her scholarship has had since she started her studies last year Daisy shares:

“I grew up in Bodmin, and I'm now studying Human Geography at Exeter. Thanks to this support I've been able to get involved with several societies and make connections across the University. It has also provided the opportunity for me to take placements and internships to increase my future job prospects. Receiving this scholarship will make a great difference to my life, both during and after university, and for this I am very grateful.”

We'd like to say a huge thank you to all our supporters who make stories like Daisy's possible. All gifts, of every size can collectively make a huge difference. 🙏🏼

For example, if 100 alumni were to give £120, or a regular gift of £10 per month, then this would provide financial support to a student for the duration of their degree.

🚣‍♀️The rain didn't dampen our delight at catching up with nearly 100 Exeter University Boat Club current students and alumni at our Alumni Drinks Reception at Henley Royal Regatta last weekend! 🥂

We loved the chance to catch up with you all during the lunchtime break from racing and enjoy swapping Exeter memories over a glass of Pimm's.
