Lets talk Myofascial Release!
Fascia is a connective tissue that is wrapped around all our organs, muscles, tissues and tendons.

Healthy fascia is elastic and slippery, and has a cobweb-like structure. Over time, due to posture, repetitive movement, injuries, operations or sudden emotional or physical trauma fascia tightens.

When fascia tightens, it tightens around the organs, muscles, tissues and tendons. This tightening is what causes pain and discomfort.

Myofascial Release is a treatment that releases the tension in the fascia. It's gentle, non-invasive and completely safe, yet at the same time very effective.

R contacted me after he had gone through cancer treatment and his doctor had told him that it was terminal and that they had nothing more to offer him. He wanted to do something for himself, something that would help him holistically.
He came for healing every week, and often said how our sessions were the highlight of his week.
We worked together with whatever came up on the day, sometimes chakra clearing or rebalancing, other times psychic surgery or relationship healing, or childhood trauma. He also did a lot of work himself between our sessions.
He kept coming until his cough got so bad that he couldn’t lie down and relax any more.
Sometime later I received the message above from his friend -he died peacefully.
I was very sad to hear he had died, and at the same time I was happy that I had been able to support him on his journey and help heal past wounds.
It’s never too late to heal whatever it is we are carrying from the past - so that we can move forward in peace and joy.

Once again I'm off to the Karuna Detox retreat to support participants during their detox journey with the help of massage, myofascial release and energy healing. I'm looking forward to meeting lots of lovely people as well as my co-workers in bodywork❤️

My last challenge! Covering up the edges of the door and windows, which look pretty rough🫣. Once again mitre box to the rescue, and voilà - result! A bit of wood filler, and well, I can’t say I’m not proud of myself 😁

I forgot how much I love painting! Time for the walls and ceiling to be finished. And fortunately painting is something I can do with my left hand, so I can give my right hand a break😁it’s been working so hard that it’s been sore on and off over the last few weeks. Luckily it doesn’t impact on giving treatments🤞

I’ve been locked out of my studio for several days over the past couple of weeks while the plumbing and electrics were being done. And now I have💡and 💧!!! Yay, I’m getting there!

I hosted the 1st event in my studio!!!
It’s not finished yet but finished enough to run a group Sound Healing session. Run by the lovely Ali , it was fully booked within a couple of days and everyone loved it.
Next session is on Friday September 15th 7-8pm. Please message me to book.
From September this group will be running on the last Friday of the month (with additional dates thrown in, depending on bookings).

My first time working with new flooring and I went about it all wrong 😩
I bought a hand sander and spent a few hours sanding the floor, and then remembered I need to fill the screw holes with wood filler and so had to sand again over the filler. And THEN I realised that the hand sander wasn’t efficient enough to sand off the curved up edges of the floor boards so I had to hire an industrial sander. Many hours later the floor is now sanded and varnished 3 times, and looking good 😃 and a lesson learned!

Plasterboards are all up! I would like to brag and say I did it all myself, but I had help🤪 my builder helped me with the ceiling (or should I say I helped him🫣), the walls I did do myself with some help from my kids (I know, child labour😬). So that’s the hard work done 🎉
Still left to do: plaster the gaps; sand and varnish floor; put in cupboards and sink; connect electrics and water. And a few other bits and bobs. The end is in sight, wohoo!
Oh and the left over pieces of plasterboard I put as freebie on gumtree and within 24 hrs it was all picked up by someone building a recording studio! 🎼🎤

I while ago I woke up to this text message from one of my regular clients. He had been complaining about slight numbness in his hands. And then one day he called and said that he couldn't feel anything at all in his hands, and could touch a boiling kettle without it hurting.
I treated his hands, arms and shoulders with Myofascial Release for 90 min. The following morning he was overjoyed to have fully regained sensation in his hands. And several weeks later he is still fine.
Being a gardener he uses a lot of heavy vibrating power tools. "Hand-arm vibration (HAV) can cause white finger, a permanent and painful numbness and tingling in the hands and arms, also painful joints and muscle weakening. There is also evidence that it may cause carpel tunnel syndrome" - Health and Safety Executive website.
Luckily we caught it early!

And I have finished putting in the insulation 🥳
It’s very easy work but very messy, crumbs go everywhere:eyes, nose, ears, mouth, hair…I’m glad this bit is over🤪💪🏼

Hi, I thought I would take the opportunity to introduce myself and how I can help you.
I have always been drawn to mental and emotional wellbeing. However my path initially took me in different directions, and I have been a tourist guide, an interpreter and a translator, a painter/ decorator and a few other things in-between. But for the last 20+ years I have trained in and practiced different modalities of bodywork and energy work.
Since everything in life has a purpose, all my past experiences as well as working through my own issues have added up to make me who I am, and given me the life experience that I draw upon to help my clients.
It is very important to me that when you come to see me you feel safe, heard, supported, and can trust me. My therapy space is non-judgemental and empathetic. It does not matter how you feel when you arrive – whether you feel like crying, laughing, swearing or are exhausted: you are welcome just as you are. I will always do my best to give you what you need so that when you leave you feel better than when you arrived. Helping you heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually is what I do.

5 wash + drier loads of sheets later I’m all set up, back in my treatment room after 5 intense days working at the Karuna detox retreat. Some week it has been!
And I’m also enjoying a beautiful bouquet from a client- she’s had a tough time lately and had a healing session to clarify the “what and why” is going on.

It’s that time of year again when everyone is so busy they forget about looking after themselves. Remember-you are no good to anyone if you are exhausted and stressed out! So even if it’s just sitting down and having that cup of tea, or putting your feet up and eating an apple, give yourself a short break to gather your thoughts and then things will feel a lot easier.
And if you think your loved one or a dear friend might need some TLC in the New Year, you can give them a gift voucher and let them choose what treatment they would like:
