Putting a face to the name ….. Well, here’s my face, and my name. I’m Jen, the creator of Burnt Alchemist.
I created Burnt Achemist because I was struggling for a long time with some bad thoughts, and needed something to help me out of a destructive loop…. What’s better than the calming process of creating candles, enjoying scents reminiscent of happiness and warmth, and being able to pass that onto others … well, what can I say ….. Burnt Alchemist has been a life saver!
I’m hoping my little happy business will continue to grow with all of your support and kindness 🖤 watch this space 🖤

It’s that Friday feeling !!! And there’s 2 new scents in town. No4 will be something sweet and comforting, No5 something bright and invigorating….. just you wait 🖤🖤🖤

Rapeseed and coconut wax….why? Because it’s sustainable and all natural.

It’s made using rapeseed wax which is derived from the rapeseed plant which is a much more sustainable alternative to soy, the cultivation of which contributes to mass deforestation, and heavy use of pesticides.

Coconut is a renewable and high yield crop which and is ethically sourced and non GMO.

Both rapeseed and coconut waxes are completely natural, biodegradable and free from harmful chemicals, making them perfect for Burnt Alchemist candles. This mixture of waxes also means that you get to enjoy your candle for longer due to a slower burn, and a more even burn too. And another benefit, it produces less soot than other waxes, ideal for keeping a clean atmosphere in your home.

Why are you choosing wooden wicks? I hear you ask….
Well …Wooden wicks in general achieve a faster and better scent throw. Paired with rapeseed & coconut wax these wicks dreamy. They produce a subtle crackling noise that reminds you that the candle is lit but also creates some undeniable ambiance that you can only find with a wooden wick candle.
Wooden wicked candles are also a MUCH cleaner choice of candle type to use than cotton wicked candles. Cotton is an incredibly pesticide-intensive crop contributing to polluting rivers and groundwater. Cotton wicks require large amounts of water, causing degradation of soil fertility, and in some cases the drying up of some of the world’s largest inland water sources, which of course I do not want to contribute to.
I’m proud to be apart of the wooden wick candle community! As an environmentally charged business, I want a product that matches that meaning! A wooden wick candle is a better, clean-burning, and aesthetically awesome candle! They may take a little more time to take care of, but trust me, it’ll be worth it!
