Videos by Lord Mayor of Exeter in Exeter. The Lord Mayor of Exeter and Civic Life
Today marks 999 Emergency Day! This day is dedicated to recognising and showing appreciation for the hard work and dedication of all the emergency services, including the police, fire, ambulance, and search and rescue teams.
The Lord Mayor's gesture of paying thanks reflects the deep gratitude that the public holds for these services, whose efforts save lives and ensure public safety every day. This day also helps raise awareness about the crucial roles these services play in responding to emergencies and keeping communities safe.
It's a fitting moment to acknowledge the bravery, professionalism, and dedication of all those who work on the front lines, often putting their own lives at risk to protect others.

Exeter Virtual Armed Forces Day 2021
Exeter usually celebrates Armed Forces Day the week before the National Armed Forces Day, which unfortunately still falls in the period where large events are not able to take place.
The decision was taken to revert to another virtual event this year, particularly as Government advice is to avoid large gatherings.
