Honoured to take part in the Enthronement of our New Bishop this afternoon
The Enthronement Service of the new Bishop of Exeter, The Right Reverend Dr Mike Harrison, will take place at Exeter Cathedral on Saturday 2 November, at 3pm.
Bishop Mike is the 72nd Bishop of Exeter.
Following traditions stretching back hundreds of years, the Enthronement Service will feature contributions from local schools and community groups.
It will include processions, music and an official welcome, as well as the anointing and enthronement of the new bishop.
The Lord Mayor would like to wish Happy Diwali to everyone who celebrates this important festival across Exeter, the UK and the world.
In his role as Lord Mayor of Exeter he decided to represent all faiths, beliefs and religions, including those who have none. That is why he chose to have the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Chapliancy Team as his chaplains for his Mayoral Year.
At the last Full Council our Hindu Chaplain Ravi presented him with a copy of the Bhagwat Gita which is now displayed within the Lord Mayor's Parlour.
Happy Diwali
