Friday Night 😁

What was originally penned in as a long overdue with turned into (after my wife not being well) an equally long overdue catch up night with my cousin instead ☺️

And what a night it was!!!

Thank you Pop restaurant (in Princesshay) for a truly wonderful evening for the CountryWoodSmoke takeover!!

* A very welcoming cocktail as we entered 🍹
* Smoked bone marrow butter to start 🦴🧈 🤤
* Baked Camembert topped with nduja & pork scratchings, served with rosemary focaccia
* 12-14 hour cherry wood smoked Beef chuck with chimichurri & a black pudding Mac & cheese on the side 😍🤤🤤 & more smoked chuck when the first dish was empty!! 🙌💥
* A light passion fruit Eton mess type of thing was the perfect way to finish 👍🤤

So pleased to have not missed out in this opportunity to sample some of Marcus’s & Pop’s lush food and great to have a catch up with them too!! 🥰
And thank you for the extra bit of chuck to take home to the boss guys!! 😁❤️

Next stop (before heading back to the shop to prep for tomorrow) is popping over to see the brilliant Jon Radford (of the fantastic Football Fun Factory) to drop off 50 of my £5 veg boxes for the families who he supports via the Devon County Council funded HAF programme.

“Holiday Activities & Food” is a programme that helps low income families by providing the children with places (& meals) at holiday activity clubs and can also provide them with food hampers (replaces the free school meals they would have received)

My boys absolutely LOVE Jon’s activity clubs & we always pick them up completely exhausted but so very happy 😊

So great to be able to collaborate with Jon again

Wed 13th: 9-1
Thurs 14th: 9-1
Fri 15th: 9-3
Sat 16th: 9-1
Mon 18th: 9-1
Tues 19th: 9-1
Wed 20th: 9-1
Thurs 21st: 9-1
Fri 22nd: 9-1 (NOT until 3 as usual)
Sat 23rd: 9-1

Will then be closed for my usual 2 week Christmas break until reopen on Monday 8th Jan: 9-1

Due to a large influx of delivery customers over the last 2-3 months, I am not able to take anymore Xmas orders BUT the shop will be open each morning to come and shop from 👍🙂

As the shop & deliveries gave been incredibly busy, I’m taking this week off with the family and heading to Butlin's Minehead as the Boy’s Half Term treat (for having such great reports from teachers evenings 😊)

Greengrocers will be reopen Monday 30th.

Fri & Sat 9-3

Just time to grab some baked goodies at Boatyard Cafe & Bakery & Joshua to have his haircut at North Barbers 👍

Yes, we are closing our doors temporarily but lets celebrate what a brilliant Library we have because of you - our wonderful Users!
So it is Party Time - Saturday, 21st October 9am - 1pm!
Drop in and see us - draw on the windows, chalk on the pavement (weather allowing!), make some craft and eat some amazing cake!
Shelley will be doing an extra special Bounce and Rhyme at 10:00!
Cake donated by Shillingford Cafe, Crafty Cakes and our own Friends Group!
So now you know we won't be baking there is no reason not to come and see us and help us have a brilliant send off!

It is a great pity that (after last years wonderful return) the carnival will not be back this year 😔 BUT as it was (& would have to remain) an event that the brilliant team at InExeter put on (using funds from a levy that all the businesses within their area pay, inc Magdalen rd) and I can totally understand that they simply couldn’t justify the costs involved for this year.
The money can be more sensible used this year to still put on other things & to help promote/support the businesses through this still difficult time 👍🙂❤️

Exeter Carnival 2023 has been cancelled The return of the carnival to the city in 2022 was hailed as a “monumental event.”
