Hi all,
Next Weds 2nd Feb we have an exclusive opening night at Yorkshire Runner in Otley. This will be the perfect opportunity to get some advice and try on some new shoes and then go out and run in them. The staff at the shop have great knowledge on kit, gait analysis and experience in running themselves.
There will also be a representative from Hoka there to demo their shoes and the technology. There will be all sizes available so enough for everyone to try on and run in them. Itโs not often you get to try before you buy so highly recommend this event. Of course there is no obligation to purchase but if you want to check your gait, looking for road, trail shoes or the perfect headtorch then this is the event for you!
So we can arrive from 6pm - so if you want gait checking/fitting get there early.
At 6.45pm we will go for a run in the shoes we want to trial:
7-8k group
5k group
Itโs a run to trial the shoes not about pace!
Following the run you have the opportunity to ask questions buy kit (at a special offer price) no obligation.
We will then go for a social drink/nibbles.
Would love to get a good attendance on this to show our appreciation - open to the running community so pop along ๐
Wishing all our members, the running community, the local community, our followers, friends and family a wonderful Christmas and a healthy and happy new year!
Who's joining walking group to search Woodhall for the Calverley phantom hound by torch light tonight?
The blacker than night hound with large glowing orange eyes has been reported in this area terrorising travellers since the 1500s. Linked to the Calverley murders and also an accused witch from Bagley was said to conjure the the beast.
Whilst it wasn't seen after an exorcism in 1850, in 1980 a black raging dog apparition was reported by a driver who then became ill for months.
Please be comfortable with 4 miles, (uneven) off-road, hills, dark, slight mud.
