Thelien Security Group
UK based Security company working across the South East & London to keep homeowners and business saf
Many people are concerned in relation to the impending IR35, there is many rumours including scaremongering and misinformation being banded about.
As a company we have ensured we and our officers are protected and have put provisions in place to ensure everyone continues to conform to any changes.
In order to reduce the number of calls and emails we get from officers and staff regarding this we have asked our company accountants to create a simplified document relating to IR35 which we will post on the social media platforms.
A few security tips in these darker nights - although we will soon have lighter evenings!
👍 Lights on/off at random times – set different plug timers or use mobile phone technology.
👍 Secure all doors and windows.
👍 Ask someone to visit your house if you are going away to keep a presence there.
Stay safe!
It’s still dark for a lot of the day – making it very easy for burglars to operate.
We came across this advice for keeping your home safe from an insurer:

If you're out and about over Xmas, read our advice for keeping your security safe!
Read our blog:
👉 How your social media timelines could make your home a target for burglars

Intruders usually fall into two categories:
1: Opportunist – people who need money and fast; they look for easy lapses in security and take their chance to steal what they can.
2: Organised crime – these intruders will identify your home as worth breaking into and wait until they can do it. They will watch you, your movements, monitor you on social media and decide when their window of opportunity is.
Once in, they will know what they want and where to find it.
They’ll be in and out in 90 seconds – you’ll barely be out of your road.
Don't make your home a target!
Setting your lights on a timer when you go out or go away won’t fool a burglar. If they’ve got an eye on your home, they will get in one way or another.
Here are a few tips:
1: Operate lights from your phone using very cheap technology – so that their on/off pattern is random. Burglars will very quickly spot that they go on using plug timers at 5pm and go off at 11pm.
2: Don’t leave your curtains closed for days – it’s a dead give away if they aren’t opened during the day. Ask someone to pop in for you if you can.
3: Keep your driveway busy. If you’re going away, park a car on it or ask the neighbours to use your drive so potential intruders are put off with all the comings and goings.
Do all you can to put them off choosing your property!
Take a look back at your Facebook timeline.
How many times do you ‘check in’ to places – especially around Xmas.
TIP: Look back to 2019 as 2020 was much quieter!
Every time you check in live at a venue or event, you are indicating that your property is empty.
Burglars are using Facebook to find out which houses to target – and they don’t even have to leave their sofa.
Once they know, they’re in and out in 90 seconds…unlikely to be seen.
Opportunistic and planned burglaries are on the rise.
Kent has been particularly targeted.
We have had an increase in calls from local farmers, small holdings and horse stables whom have fallen victims of crime.
We can offer anything from deterrent signage to regular patrols, random patrols, officers, dog handlers, key holding, alarm response and full security audits to ensure you and your assets stay safe.
We already successfully secure and respond to a number of sites within Kent and it is more affordable than you think!
You can benefit from reduced insurance premiums by engaging our services.

Look at your home from the outside.
Does it look easier to burgle than your neighbours’ homes?
Windows open?
A key under the mat?
Lights on predictable timers?
Do what you can to make sure your home is not the target.
Video doorbells are great in the fight against crime – the footage has helped police to identify offenders.
Our advice is to do all you can to reduce your risk of being targeted, but if it does happen, turn to technology to find evidence – the police are keen to use it as part of their enquiries.
We like to add value to our clients and after attending a recent farm intruder alarm, we spent some time with the farmer giving them some deterrent advice.
👉 Lighting – we suggested improvements to light darker areas that could be at a higher risk of trespass.
👉 Fencing – we walked the perimeter and pointed out weaknesses in the security.
In the ideal world, they would have round the clock security cover.
Instead, we give as much advice as we can to reduce risk and deter intruder interest.
Many years ago, ‘private security’ was for the rich and famous.
Now, with an increase in crime, perceived threat of crime and less police or a slower service, we are working with many private homes and estates to provide them with responsive and reactive security, tailored to whatever level of support they need.
We can guarantee a response – our overstretched police service has to prioritise and can’t guarantee a response when you need it.
We can – and it doesn’t cost as much as you might think.

We’ve gone electric and will be creating an all electric fleet as we buy new vehicles.
All of our work is local to the security officer allocated the client and job, so ‘range anxiety’ – the fear or running out of charge isn’t an issue for us.
We’re well on the way to becoming ACS-approved and should have this accreditation by early 2022.
It means that our company is under the industry’s regulation body which sets and maintains standards.
For our clients, it means:
✔ We are backed
✔ They can trust us
✔ They can have total confidence in us
For our business contracts, it means that we can tender for more jobs as many require the accreditation.
