The Elite Academy of Dance

As you all know by now, my monster and her amazing cheerleading team, Bournemouth Elite Icicles are off to compete in Florida in April.

To compete in Florida is the dream of every cheerleader and Icicles will be competing as the first BEC team ever at the All Star Worlds in Florida next April, against some of the best teams in the world. This is a huge achievement for them as such a young team.

As well as personally fundraising to pay for the trip for Aliona, we have to fundraise as a team to enable the cheer programme to provide them with all the essentials they need to make this the most positive and memorable experience, such as additional UK and US training in the lead up to the competition.

So here is the first of the team fundraising.

Each square on the card is £5 and the winner will receive £50, with £100 going directly to the teams fundraising total.

Just a small reminder please, not to let anyone into the Youth Club building under any circumstance. Myself or my team of student helpers will let people in. If we are busy assisting a student, you may have to wait a few seconds but we will be there. If you are questioned as to who you are or who you are coming to collect, please be polite.

Unfortunately, we had 4 occasions today where random people, not affiliated with the dance school, were let into the building to use the toilet, one even entered the kitchen to fill a bottle. We have notified the football club on numerous occasions but it seems to fall on deaf ears and I know that as one of these people who came in was a referee of the days matches.

Additionally, the magnetic lock was off today for a period. Usually this is because someone has pressed the green quick fire release instead of the white exit switch. Please only use the white swtich, otherwise, you are leaving the door open and the students at risk. Thanks, Kelly

Tumbling class is on tomorrow 12.30 £5 pay as you go xx

We are looking to restart our tumbling class on a Sunday after Easter 12.45-13.45. Pay as you go £5 per session or pay termly £4 per session. You must attend an Acrobatic class in addition. This is also available for anyone outside of the Academy. They must provide details of where they train in Acrobatics or provide me with a copy of their current British Gymnastics Membership information. Please comment below if you're interested 💜

My name is Aliona and I am 12 years old. I have been dancing since I was 18 months old. My favourite colour is blue and my favourite thing to eat are doritos. I love dancing as it has given me the chance to make lots of friends with similar interests. I love the shows and being able to perform.

My name is Elsie. I am 9 years old. I have been with Elite for about 18 months. My favourite colour is purple. My favourite food is Mexican, with the family.
I love that every week we learn and work on new skills and techniques. My favourite skill in acrobatics is the pin handstand. I love that I’m good at the splits and that my strength in the bridge has come on so much.

I also love the shows. It is helping build my confidence.

Hi, I am Jasmine. I am 12 years old, my favourite colour is blue. I've been going to the Elite Academy of Dance for the last 18 months. I love that Kelly has encouraged me to help with the younger students of the Academy and that they have someone different to help and learn from. I love that our Venue has the space to be able to use equipment for fun dance-related activities.

I have been at Elite since September 2022.

I love that I'm the only one that can do the splits in my class at school (thanks to dancing) and I also like that I got to wear make up when we did the dance show.

Meet Aliona, the Principals daughter. She has been attending Dance and Acrobatic classes since she was born 🤣. She's learnt all the skills with us that she needed to successfully get into Bournemouths premier cheerleading programme Bournemouth Elite Cheer.

Her team attended their first competition of the season last weekend and came 1st in their division and won the judges choice award out of 63 teams. She's a pure example of how hard work and dedication pays off.

Recent events have meant that I have had to seek an alternative venue for some of our dance classes at The Elite Academy of Dance

With the help of one of our parents and the lovely people at West Moors Youth Club, we found our new home, which has made us feel like a family again. However, whilst it suits us down to the ground for dance purposes, the building entry was not up to my child safeguarding requirements.

So, we had a magnetic door entry system fitted to the main door this weekend by Max at Safe and Sound Security Solutions . A very professional fitter who gave us a very hefty discount.

Myself and the West Moors Youth Club would like to thank Max for his excellent service. Due to his very kind generosity and the clubs additional financing help, the building is now secure and safe for all the young people using the facility and not just limited to the dance academy children. Thank you so much 💜

We are enrolling new students for the New Year. Classes start at £3.75, monthly payments, not termly payments.

Do you have a child that likes to run and jump about like a ninja, but doesn't like the structure of a standard acrobatic, gymnastic class or martial arts class, like my son? The North Pole have confirmed Santa has been booked, I just need to book the Youth Club then will confirm a time. It will be somewhere between 2 and 6pm.
Games, food, presents and lots and lots of fun!
Cost is £6.50 per child and of course, siblings are welcome. Tickets will be available online shortly, when live, I will let you know.
