We are looking for a full time front of house member of staff/or 2 part timers, to join our busy team.
After 5 years one of our amazing full timers is going travelling around the world-her boots will be hard to fill!!

We are on the hunt for fantastic individuals both in our kitchen to join our brilliant chefs and front of house to work weekends in the bar / restaurant area.
Will consider chefs of all positions and will consider both full time and part time.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas...🎄⭐️
It’s been wonderful decorating our beautiful pub today.
Christmas will be a little different this year but as always you will be greeted with a warm (Christmassy) welcome!
As we are in tier 2 (Thank you Boris!) you can book a table for 1 household, this includes a support bubble. You will need to have a (substantial!) meal with your alcoholic drink!

Monday - Friday
12.00 - 15.00/ 17.30-21.00
Saturday
12.00 -21.00
Sunday
12.00-18.00

As we will be now be operating as a restaurant we will be closed between 15.00-17:30.

Here we are again...
We will be closing our doors tonight at 10.00pm.
Firstly a massive thank you to all our customers. We have been genuinely overwhelmed by your continued support and kind words!
Also to our amazing staff who have once again been so supportive through difficult times and adapting so brilliantly to a “new normal!”

Our sincere thanks to all our customers who have supported us since reopening The Black Horse after lockdown! It’s been a great couple of months and we appreciate your support in ensuring we are COVID safe.

After the recent Government updates we have a few more changes to make you aware of and to once again ask for your support.

Masks are now compulsory from entering the pub to moving around, they can be removed when seated at your tables.

Table service only - let us look after you!

We will be closing at 22:00 with last orders 21:30.

Track and trace is compulsory either through the NHS COVID scanning app or through providing details.

We always try to ensure customers feel safe when entering The Black Horse but at the same time still trying to provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We have had some amazing reviews that reflect this and this safety will always be our main priority.

To accommodate opening hours changes we have adjusted our food opening hours which we hope will help everyone including the Kitchen being open all day Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sunday.

Our new food serving times are:
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 12.00-15:00 and 17:30-20:30
Thursday, Friday and Saturday- Food served all day 12.00-20:30
Last table bookings will be 20:00.
Sunday 12.00-6.00

The day has come...

We would like to start by saying a massive thank you to all the front line workers who have kept us safe over the last 3 1/2 months.

On the 4th July our doors will open! We cannot tell you how happy we are to welcome you all back!
One thing we realised even more over this time … we love our pub, we love our job and we really missed our amazing customers and staff!

We can safely say we are all desperate for an ice cold beer, a chilled white wine or a delicious gin and tonic! ( we also have some summer cocktails coming!) And let’s not forget a delicious home cooked meal. Brian and his team cannot wait to cook our delicious menu for you!

We are waiting to hear all the final details on opening, as soon as we have these we will update you on any changes that need to be made and guidelines we will need to operate within including bookings.

One year ago today........

It is hard to believe that exactly a year ago, we opened our doors for the first time to the public!

On a sunny Bank Holiday Monday, we started our adventure!

Never did we imagine the support we would receive! Our journey has been filled with hard work, delicious food, lots of drinks, fun and laughter from both our customers and our amazing team.

Whilst we cannot celebrate in the way we planned, rest assured we will be back stronger than ever.

We have missed you all so much and hope you are all safe and well. We cannot wait to greet you through the doors again.

‘We will meet again’

10 months ago we started our Black Horse adventure.
And my God what an adventure!
We pulled our first pint (badly) last May Bank holiday and the whirlwind began!
We learnt a lot.
Our team grew.
Our customers returned.
We laughed a lot.

Thank you to our wonderful team.
You are family to us.
We love you.

Thank you to our wonderful customers.
You have supported us beyond our wildest dreams.

When this is over we will appreciate everything we have taken for granted a whole lot more… not least the people keeping us safe.

We will be here - ready to serve you that first drink.

Sadly, we have had to cancel The Quiz Night in aid of Chestnut Tree House this Wednesday.

We are unsure what the future holds - along with many other family business’

Last night Andrew & I were devastated. At that moment a member of staff messaged us ‘I will happily work unpaid, we are in this together.’

These moments of kindness are keeping us going.

We remain open as usual where you will be greeted with a warm welcome.
