Weddingflation. A new word coming out of Korea. As living expenses rise, the significant increase in wedding expenses has given rise to the term "weddingflation," a portmanteau of "wedding" and "inflation." This term describes the notable surge in prices for elements such as venue rentals, wedding photography and decor.

Wedding Business Owners: Avoid These 6 Cybersecurity Mistakes
Mistake 2: Not using password-protected documents
We all understand that running a wedding business is both fast-paced and demanding particularly in the peak summer season when you can be delivering back-to-back weddings. This hectic schedule can lead to a time when you send out documents unsecurly to clients.
Action: One of the most effective ways to protect sensitive business and couples files is to use password-protected PDFs. Password protection ensures that only authorized personnel can access the files, and it adds an extra layer of security to sensitive information.
Here are six common mistakes you can make as a wedding professional, actions and tips to avoid cyber attacks
Mistake 1: Using weak passwords or the same password for different accounts.
Countless wedding business owners make the mistake of using weak passwords that are easy to guess - even I was guilty of this! Some business owners even use the same password for multiple accounts, leaving the doors open for hackers hoping to break into your system, and you never know when they will pick on you!
Action: Make sure you and your employees are using strong passwords for all accounts.
Wedding Business Owners: Avoid These Six Cybersecurity Mistakes
Cybersecurity is a crucial issue that you can’t take lightly as a small business owner in the wedding industry (or any industry, for that matter). Most small businesses don’t have the resources to hire a full-time IT specialist to manage their security needs, making them easy targets for online hackers. This month I discuss the most common cybersecurity mistakes that small businesses make and how your team can build a digital fortress for your sensitive information and organisation as a whole so you can let your clients know they are in safe hands.

How do you calculate your hire fee?
While you might offer a great product or service, so do other wedding professionals. So having the ‘same’ product or service is probably not what your clients value the most from you and your company. Your Unique Value Proposition (UVP on USP) is likely to be your personality that differentiates you, for example how personal you are, your personal style etc.
If it turns out that it is your personality and not your product that couples are prepared to pay for, it's time to put you in front of the camera, become more of an influencer and raise your price per hour, as you are a one-off.
How do you calculate your hire fee?
No matter what pricing strategy you take, remember the most important thing is to find your sweet spot - a place that maximizes your profits while attracting couples.
How do you calculate your hire fee?
Revisit your pricing
Above all, remember that your venue, product or service is unique as it's a reflection of you. There's no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to pricing. What works for one wedding professional might not work for another.
The most important thing is to find a pricing strategy that matches your target audience, meets your income goals over your timeline, and brings in enough revenue to keep your business running and makes you a profit
Remember to revisit and adjust your prices as time moves on. For instance certain days of the year or your keys products might sell out faster so there might be room to increase and on the flip side look at incentives to book slower days and as we are all aware rising costs are forcing all to revisit our margins to protect our bottom line.

How do you calculate your hire fee?
Don't panic
If you collect feedback which I recommend, after a show-around or after pitching to a client one of the most common reasons for not booking might be that the couple just didn’t have the budget.
Couples might want what you are selling but aren’t willing to pay the price for what your service is worth. If this sounds familiar, I recommend you stand by your prices. Losing couples can send a wedding company into complete panic mode, especially having just fixed your prices. A temptation is to reduce your price, discount or create packages with money-off bundles. Don't.. Let your competition be cheaper, you just need to work harder to prove your worth.

How do you calculate your hire fee?
During a show around your venue or a one-to-one, the wedding professional must demonstrate the venue, product or service value. That is, you need to highlight what couples will get when they book and persuade the couple to fall in love with you as well as the product or service.

How do you calculate your hire fee?
To show pricing or not to show your pricing is a question I often get asked.
This element of your pricing strategy is a complicated topic with no simple wrong or correct answer. However, I believe if you have followed my previous pricing stages and identified your target couple, and correctly marketed to them with your assets, then the answer becomes less complicated.

It is essential to be transparent with your pricing and to include all costs in the price list, including VAT. Couples will appreciate your honesty; it will help to build trust between you and them and enable them to manage their budget better.

Understand the costs of running your business, including fixed and variable expenses. And, don't forget to include a price for yourself who creates the products and service. You need to ensure you are appropriately compensated for your investment into helping to make the couples’ special occasion a success.
