Laying the wreath on behalf of 99 (Folkestone) Squadron on the memorial at the top of the Road of Remembrance.
We were honoured to attend this year's Remembrance parade. Cadets wore their poppies with pride and paraded smartly, remembering all that have made a sacrifice.
We are extremely proud of our Corporal who travelled to the Somme on 11.11.23 and proudly carried the banner for the Somme branch of the Royal British Legion at Thievpal.
Big thank you to Starbucks in Folkestone for their kind support with keep our collectors warm today whilst supporting the Poppy Appeal. Thank you 😊
99 (Folkestone) Squadron are out in force today in Folkestone Town centre supporting the Poppy Appeal and raising fund for the Royal British Legion. Well done all.
Cadets from 99 Squadron are proudly collecting for the Royal British Legion for this year's Poppy Appeal. If you're local, pop along to Asda to support this amazing cause, we'd love to see you.
Last Thursday's parade night saw cadets participating in a STEM night where they had a budget to 'buy' parts, then design, plan and build a vehicle made from vegetables and cocktail sticks! 🏎 Points were awarded for planning, design and distance travelled. They had a great time! 😁
Last night the cadets had a practical drill session, followed by a lesson from a senior NCO on how to polish shoes. We're aiming to be as well drilled and smart as possible with gleaming shoes in preparation for the forthcoming Remembrance parades in November. Well done all.
Three excited cadets from 99 (pictured centre) have embarked on their bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition today together with 354 (Dover) Squadron. The sun's shining brightly and the weather is just perfect. Have fun all! 😁
Last weekend 99 Sqn together with 23 other squadrons participated in the Kent Wing Pentathlon. Events included a navigation exercise, kit carry, first aid and initiative exercise. The shooting element will be conducted separately.
It was very challenging but they had a brilliant day and did very well whilst having the opportunity to conpete against other squadrons and meet new friends 😊
Cadets from 99 are doing so well with progressing through their classifications and badges. One cadet passed their leading badge this evening and last parade night saw two cadets awarded their bronze drum badges and another their senior badge. Well done all! 👏👏👏
Tonight two cadets successfully passed exams!! One cadet passed his leading and our Corporal passed her senior classification. Well done and congratulations to you both 👏👏
Well done and congratulations to the cadets who attended the Bronze First Aid Course this weekend. You all passed well done 👏👏

*** WE NEED YOUR HELP ***
We need you!
Our wonderful Civilian Committee is having it's Annual General Meeting at the squadron on Monday 25th September.
This is the chance to be part of the squadron and help support with fundraising. The committee meets roughly every couple of months and helps to organise events to raise funds and support a few events throughout the year.
They're a great bunch and nice and friendly, plus you'll be making a huge difference to the cadets. No experience required!
We would love to see you there. Please let us know if you would like to attend, (no pressure to join.. come and see if you fancy it).
We will also be voting in positions on the committee.
Thanks so much
