It's a miniature metamorphic chair; the ideal Xmas accessory for that special Teddy or doll. We're told that it dates from the 1920s - if so, a true antique, but still in great attractive working condition. It folds up as a high chair, or down as a feeding table and / or a play station, complete with original rows of wooden distraction beads.

Had a trip down to the first glass fair for ages on Sunday, at the Ruskin Glass Centre, Stourbridge, organised by Premier Fairs. What a day! Wall-to-wall glass, friendly traders, excellent talks by Mark Hill and Eric Knowles - and a great cafe :-) Also took in the excellent new Glass Museum - well worth a visit by itself, or in tandem with the (under restoration) Red Cone workshops over the road.

Well, I've been that busy getting ready for the Coronation - robes pressed, breeches darned, coronet re-gilded - I've barely had a moment to dig up any Old Chestnuts.

After all that, with my invite still delayed in the post, I've found a moment to prepare some really chunky beasts to beef up the offerings. We have the most stunning set of scales I've ever seen, complete with a raft of weights from a 14-pound door-stopper down to a tidgy ounce; a cast-iron purdonium in lovely condition, ideal for kindling or coal; the most gorgeous wooden-framed mirror, and a signed and stamped lithograph of WW1 aerial combat, by the acclaimed American painter, Merv Corning.
