I'm super excited to be playing in Frome this Saturday and in such good company. We are at the beautiful Bennett Centre where we will light the open fire and all the candles and fairy lights we can muster. I will be playing first, doors at 7.00pm, then we will have some songs from DJ Solaris then from The Judas Goat and The Bellwether...what a name for a band! I will be returning next week! 🎙️ I sang the whole of Darkling through to an invited audience; we heard friends reading their poems and stories. It was magical. I love the Bennett Centre in Frome, it's so beautiful, like a medieval banqueting hall with rafters and stonework and an open fire🔥� In October I will be playing lots of new songs in a double headline gig with my friend Gabriel Moreno. This one turned out way creepier than intended... I wrote a version of this about a drifting relationship but then when I added the chorus, it began to sound like sirens and oblivion. I like it better that way... it satisfies something dark and strange. I'm hoping the capo right up on the seventh fret gives it a slight Cocoa Rosie harp vibe... I have been thinking about what it means to make something and many of the new songs for the next album are about musicians and makers. I am inspired by poets and writers like Joni Mitchel, Cohen and Dylan, and so many others.
