🍭FIND A GOLDEN T*CKET!🍭
Frome Festival’s theme this year celebrates 60 years of Roald Dahl’s ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, written in 1964. As a scrumdiddlyumptious surprise, we have collaborated with local Frome chocolatier and café, Choc et al, to create five Golden T*ckets to win at various events. The Golden T*ckets themselves are made of solid chocolate coated in edible gold paint and each winner will also receive a voucher for a £25 spending spree on chocolate products at Choc et al, 16 Cheap Street.
We are keeping the exact locations of four of the five Golden T*ckets a secret, but they are hidden across both children’s and adults’ events. As clues to where they might be found, children can reach up very high to find one, or down low (without letting the cat out of the bag), and adults might find one in the bit in the middle.
Choc et al are reserving one Golden T*cket to stay close to the Chocolate Factory which can be won at one of their Sunday ‘Chocolate Tasting Experience’ events as part of Frome Festival. Numbers will be painted with white chocolate on their edible buttons and the winner will be drawn randomly.
Choc et al’s ‘Chocolate Tasting Experience’ takes place on both Sundays the 7th and 14th July from 3.30-5.30pm. Reserve your spot here: https://fromefestival.co.uk/event/choc-et-al-chocolate-tasting-experience/2024-07-07/

Join Eleven Magpies on the Silk Mill’s outside stage for the last day of this year’s Frome Festival.
Led by Bristol-based composer, multi-instrumentalist and music director Ian Ross (Wise Children, Kneehigh), the band features Alex Vann (Spiro, Three Cane Whale), Elizabeth Westcott (Yesterday’s Camel) and James Gow (Jow).
Together, they chart a whirling journey of plucked and bowed strings, through humorous miniatures and sorrowful madrigal-esque beauty, then up into unexpected flights that come to land in moments of serene stillness.
They are delighted to present an evening of music from their two albums Eleven Magpies and Two for Joy, inspired by theatrical travels and reflections on grief, faith and joy.
The evening will include a post-show campfire acoustic session.

Our Story
The Frome Festival is a 10 day celebration of the Arts, which started in 2000. Each year we host around 200 events in approximately 40 venues across the town. There really is something for everyone whether you are young, old or in between and love live music, dance, poetry, writing, great food, workshops, visiting gardens, art trails, comedy, or anything else which vaguely falls under the banner of ‘The Arts’.
Headline acts in recent years have included Reef, Ruby Wax, The Levellers, Badly Drawn Boy, Dr David Starkey, Billy Bragg, Inspiral Carpets, Stereo MCs, Romesh Ranganathan, The Sugarhill Gang, The Hoosiers, Glenn Tilbrook, Cara Dillon, P*e Wee Ellis, Aston Merrygold, Dr Phil Hammond, Phill Jupitus, Prof Michael Wood, Tom Allen, Julian Richards and many more!
About one-third of our events are by local performers, professional and amateur; the Open Studios is a showcase for around 70 artists and the Hidden Gardens, another established feature of the Festival, gives entry to a fascinating selection of private gardens.
We have some amazing venues in Frome including two theatres, an outdoor amphitheatre made from stones from the European Union and some multi-purpose halls. Rook Lane Chapel opened in 1707 and is now a brilliantly remodelled hall for exhibitions, concerts and meetings. The Cheese & Grain was built in 1875 as a market hall, and now accommodates concerts, markets, meetings and shows. It can hold an audience of up to 800. There is an art and crafts centre, with workshops, gallery, shop and a café. A former almshouse and charity school, restored as a residential home, has a river garden used for, amongst other attractions, sculpture displays. There are a number of galleries and the sensitively-converted Silk Mill houses concerts as well as exhibitions. A real hidden gem is the Cooper Hal, a privately (and generously) financed concert hall seating up to 70 in the grounds of a manor house on the edge of town. It was inaugurated during the 2012 Festival. Several pubs and churches also host events in the Festival.
