Well it’s half term on my History of Architecture course…. We’ve covered Art Deco, Renaissance, Victorian, Rococo and Art Nouveau. These are some of my favourite images from the sessions so far….. Five more weeks to go…. Amazing group of learners, enthusiastic and fun. The course is running again in spring but on Tuesday evenings this time… hope to see more of you then.

To usher in the new year I am doing a new Interior design course, whilst it is a follow on from the previous 10 week course those that haven’t done that one can definitely join this one…. Lots of fun starts 11th January….

More and more people are moving to open plan arrangements which is great for so many reasons - but how ‘lounge like’ should your eating area be?

There are so many beautiful Georgian building in Bath and Somerset but that doesn’t mean you have to stick to traditional ways of decorating your home.
Introducing modern curves and shaped furniture to a formal symmetrical sitting room can lead to surprisingly pleasing results

This is taken from and is from a Kiev project in Ukraine, but as we were talking texture and walls I thought it was a great example to show you…

By keeping tones minimal you can use texture to showcase different elements - see how the headboard against the wall texture is particularly great 😊

Charles Mackintosh knew symmetry and was an absolute perfectionist when it came to design. ✨

It’s also cool to note the purple white and green was used as it incorporates the colours of the suffragette flag 💜⚪️💚
