I had 5yr olds through to 55+ yr olds making an effort to come and tell me how much they enjoyed my set - and it meant SO much, hard to put into words tbh. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Looking forward to playing at this little festival at Heywood House in Wiltshire tomorrow afternoon (2:30pm) The stage is under a big marquee and there’s a lot of music and things to do throughout the day! Profits raised are going to local charities 🎶🫶🏻✨

Before, during and after… wouldn’t normally post something like this, but at 41, and with some ongoing health issues which I’m working through, I figured I’m allowed a bit of a midlife crisis and decided to go for the chop! Feeling more positive now as my hair is going to where someone will appreciate it more than I was. Can’t believe it was over 45cm long in places! Thanks to Sam Bendle Hair and Nails for the fab job ✂️🫶🏻✨

Thank you Had a great weekend! Thank you also to Andy and Sam (my band) I’ll really miss playing alongside them - two of my favourite people and musicians 😢 But things change and we all have to keep moving forward… hopefully in a positive direction. I’m going to be out there playing solo gigs and working on a of collaborations in the not-so-distant future so watch this space! In the meantime I have a 3 month old baby and a toddler to keep me busy 🤪🎸🎶🫶🏻

This has been a while in the making with a lot of set backs along the way but I cannot wait to show you what myself and my amazing band have been working on!

Had one of those memories come up…
Seven years ago, while I was an Independent Town Councillor for Frome, I thought it might be a good idea to attempt to bring all the stakeholders in the local performing arts community closer together… below is the flyer for one of the meetings. This one focussed on listening to the thoughts and needs of local performers.

During these tough times it’s easy to forget that the Arts is one of our nations’ greatest strengths… (i.e. whether you’re a fan or not - just look at what Eurovision is doing for morale and the economy in the northwest atm) - however the funding it receives (if at all) at a grass roots level, where it ALL begins, is pitiful. Its also nearly always the first thing to receive cuts in the education system. Do they even have music, drama and art lessons at school anymore?!

I believe creativity begins with creating opportunities, and I’ll always be so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to help my hometown. Hopefully there’ll be more in future. I’m also thankful and proud to have been part of creating the Bert Jansch Studio when I was Dept Mayor by petitioning the rest of the council for £140,000 in order to match the national lottery and gain funding for completing the initial conversion behind the Cheese and Grain 🎶

This second meeting of the Performing Arts Panel is dedicated to performers from Frome and the surrounding area. If you’re unable to attend the meeting but would like to contribute to the panel you can email [email protected] and your thoughts and experiences will be added to the feedback obtained from this meeting. Members of the public and press are welcome to attend.
