Back pain. Something 90% of clients will mention as their main concern or as an ongoing ‘niggle’.
-
More often than not this is caused by tightening of the iliacus/psoas (hip flexors), or QL muscle. This can be caused by prolonged periods of sitting, lack of stretching, or lack of correct muscle activation to name a few reasons.
-
When I treat individuals with back pain, you will find I ask a LOT of questions. This is to gather as much information about your day to day life and activity levels as possible.
-
You will also find that I will treat areas which are not where you are directly feeling the pain. This will be based off my own assessment through movement/mobility tests and what you have told me, seeking the root cause of the problem rather than relieving pain symptoms temporarily.
-
Ever been for a massage and had only your back treated and found your pain has subsided for a couple of days however then returns? That is because they have not treated the cause of the problem, which is exactly what I strive to do 😇
-
Information which you may see as irrelevant could be key to your treatment so try to tell me as much as possible during your initial assessment!
-
If you’re suffering with back pain, feel like you have tried everything and are on the verge of ‘accepting’ the pain… get in touch today so I can help you have a much better quality of life!
💕💕💕Happy Valentine’s Day all 💕💕💕
Dry cupping has been around for YEARS.
-
You may have seen people walking around with circular shaped bruises wondering where they came from? Likely story is they’ve had cupping.
-
The process involves a cup being placed on an area where you are experiencing tension/congestion. A tool is used to draw air out of the cup, this doesn’t hurt however can feel a little strange.
-
Cups are left on for varying times dependant on what is being treated and your individualised treatment plan that session. Cups can also be moved whilst on your skin as a form of fascial release.
-
This can result in some soreness, however following this I find clients report instant relief and improved recovery times.
-
This works well in conjunction with massage, as the lifting effect from the cups work synergistically with downwards pressure from massage.
-
Cupping is provided within treatments atm no extra cost. If you think cupping may be able to help your concerns, get in touch!
Kinesiology tape, also known as K-tape is used to treat both sports and non-sport injuries and can have instant results in terms of pain relief.
-
Through using both stretched (stretch tape not the muscle during application) and neutral (stretch the muscle not the tape during application), this can be of assistance to lift the skin and tissue, therefore reducing pressure in an area/joint and allowing lymphatic drainage more freely, reduced pressure on pain receptors and reduce inflammation.
-
I use premium tape, to give clients the best possible results.
-
With premium tape comes a small cost to yourself as part of treatment (as it’s not cheap!) An additional £5 will be added to treatment costs when applying tape.
-
If you’re curious about K-tape and how it may benefit an injury or concern you’re experiencing, drop me a message!
There’s endless reasons you may need a massage.
-
Alongside relieving tension and rehab for injuries, massage is a key tool for managing and improving mental state.
-
Having a solid mental health and sense of well-being, also means increased motivation and energy for training.
-
Physical and mental health go hand in hand and the power of staying in check with both, should not be underestimated.
-
Don’t wait until you’re feeling stressed or tense to book in, book in now to enhance your overall lifestyle. 🤩

The physical benefits of sports therapy are extensive.
-
If you are looking to enhance your activity levels in 2023, I would highly advise you consider maintaining your muscle health for best results.
-
If you’re reading this thinking ‘but I’m not injured’… Staying on top of physical form is financially a lot less demanding than paying out for treatment when you are injured. The likelihood of this occurring is increased in line with you attempting to progress in your sport if you do not care for your body appropriately.
-
If you are unsure what treatment level would be advisable for your activity level or sport, drop me a message. 😊
Commencing on 10/01/23, Introducing the answer to what a lot of people need but choose not to do.
-
Stretching/mobility/flexibility work is something which is left to one side by a lot of individuals for many reasons. This could be lack of time, lack of knowledge or lack of motivation to do so.
-
I will be running classes in order to give people the opportunity to learn, whilst providing all the motivation you need.
-
Classes are short and sweet at 30 minutes, for just £5 for falcon members (£6 non members).
-
Should you struggle with certain movement patterns I will also provide personalised programming for you where needed.
-
First class is free of charge! You have nothing to lose but a whole lot to gain.
-
Start as you mean to go on in January by creating helpful habits!

With no remaining availability this year I thought it would be a good time to let you all know...
—
I haven’t had a solid week off massage since April… so thought I’d take this time to recharge and come back in January with well rested elbows and hands (which will probably worry some of you!)
-
I will of course still have my phone on me but please forgive me if I take longer to get back to you during this period.
-
I am returning to work 03/01/23 and have a *very nearly* fully booked week. For those of you wanting appointments in January, please use my online booking link (in bio). If you require a time/ day which isn’t showing please get in touch 😊
-
Thank you for your continued support and business, I am extremely grateful for each and every client 🤍

Wishing everyone a very merry Christmas and just to advise… eating excess amounts of food definitely speeds up injury recovery 🫣😅!

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Something I commonly hear is ‘my shoulders are pretty knotty’, but what actually is this?
-
Technically there’s no such thing as a knot… however you’re likely referring to a trigger point (that’s an explanation for another day) or scar tissue build up (perhaps from a previous injury which hasn’t been treated) which is tender to touch/apply pressure, or noticeable in causing discomfort when you move in certain ways.
-
You don’t necessarily want to ‘get rid’ of anything. However with pressure via massage, massage guns, trigger point balls or self massage, the aim is to reduce/remove toxins and congestion in the area.
-
This isn’t the most fun process, and can include repeatedly going into the same location which will cause discomfort, however when done correctly it should provide relief, sometimes instantly 😮💨.
-
If you’re feeling ‘knotty’ drop me a message for advice 😊
Why is this important? I might be slightly bias however, having a sports therapist that understands core principles and demands of different sports gives them a step ahead when it comes to treating you.
-
As a qualified personal trainer of 8 years, I have a broad understanding of all gym based activity and the passion people have for training. I know the unrealistic nature of expecting someone to have complete rest and therefore always try to find solutions and adaptations to allow you to continue to exercise how you enjoy, in the safest and most productive manner.
-
It doesn’t stop at the gym. I have treated people from the following backgrounds…professional bodybuilders, professional footballers, powerlifters, cross fitters, surfers, hikers, swimmers, professional rugby players, triathletes, cyclists and the list goes on.
-
I have always had a keen interest in sport, from competitive swimming to gymnastics, I’ve dabbled in bodybuilding and triathlons, and continue to have a love for surfing (that’s me ^) and less intense training in the gym!
-
I an always keen to learn about new sports and expand my knowledge. You can be confident that I will take time to research your sport if I’m not too clued up, and give you the best possible treatment plan to suit your individual needs.
-
If your sports therapist isn’t that into sport…do they really understand what’s going to meet your physical and wellbeing needs?🙃
-
If you’re wondering how I can help you with your sport, drop me a message 💪🏽
Please do use my online booking system…It saves me admin time, meaning more massage availability for you!
-
All new clients please choose a one hour minimum time slot. 30 minutes will not be sufficient for an initial consultation and treatment time. 30 minutes will cover one small area eg calves or neck.
-
If you are going to exercise on the day of your booking, ensure you do so BEFORE your treatment (and then shower please…).
-
Please leave as many details in the ‘notes’ section of the booking as to what you’re main concerns are/ what you are looking for from a treatment. The more details given, the less time spent discussing in your appointment.
-
A small deposit is taken via online booking. Complete payment is taken at your appointment.
-
If you are unsure of anything, or the availability you require does not feature on the online booking then please do not hesitate to message and ask!
-
I understand you can’t plan injuries and therefore do my utmost to get you in within 5 days if you have immediate concerns!
-
Thank you 🙏

Incase you didn’t know, I offer free rehab programmes for all clients based on their treatment needs.
-
Massage is only a small element of your recovery, responsibility needs to also fall on yourself to engage with stretching/stabilising/strengthening movements (DAILY) to progress.
-
I understand that this can be difficult to know what to do, and when to do it. So to make life easier, I formulate personalised rehab plans which include video link demonstrations.
-
All you need to do is follow this plan religiously, and you will instantly notice faster progress in your recovery.
-
If you have any concerns or queries, drop me a message or book in using the booking link found in my bio ☺️

-
Times are not easy with costs increasing every direction we turn, however I can confirm I will not be increasing my prices in 2022. I strive to keep massage therapy affordable and accessible for all.
-
I will soon be releasing package prices for bulk session purchases. This will allow for those committed to enhancing their recovery and improving athletic performance to access discounted treatment 👌
A lot of rehab work I recommend involves these balls of joy. So to cut out the middle man of internet shopping, I now have more of these in stock.
-
No massage needed, you can just come and buy one.
-
What are they good for?
-
Attacking trigger points in between massages to stay on top of areas of congestion, keeping pain at bay, increasing mobility and improving ROM.
-
They suck. But they’re worth it. 🙃
In a world where the man who coined ‘RICE’ is now looking to scrap the ice, it can be hard to know how to best treat injuries.
-
As my clients know, I’m not one for boring people with science and prefer to explain things in simplified versions. So, here’s a simplified explanation of what’s best and when…
-
If you’ve had an impact injury and the site is swollen/inflamed/bruised then ice is the go to.
-
If the problem is more of a dull ache/spasm/twitch, heat is the go to.
-
As always, I’m happy to discuss if you’re not sure! 😌
Moving my business to a whole new area was going to be challenging but I am so grateful to work with and treat such lovely, kind clients!
-
Feedback is key in improving my service so please do offer it (good and room for improvement!)
-
Thank you for your words 💜
As competition season is in full swing for many clients I thought I’d give a little back and create my own 🏆
