New Highway Code guidance will help keep people cycling, walking and riding horses even safer.

🚴Part of the guidance includes leaving at least 1.5 metres when overtaking people cycling.

These New rules are starting on Saturday 31st January but one is bugging me. The old rule was slow and give priority to vulnerable road users and pedestrians in the road.
The new rule is to stop to let pedestrians cross at a junction if you are turning out of a side road if you are tuning right into a junction and also turning left into the junction.
So on approach be careful of motor vehicles slowing or stopping to let a pedestrian cross from standing on the pavement.
Yes. SO if the pedestrians are waiting on the pavement YOU HAVE TO STOP, BUT ONLY IF IT IS SAFE TO DO SO.
What I can make out as this is not very clear and I think will cause injury and accidents.
If you are at a traffic light junction where there is a controlled crossing area then continue to proceed at green traffic lights. If you are on a dual carriage way with side roads and turning left, DO NOT PUT YOURSELF IN ANY DANGER.
It is a STUPID new rule that should not have been passed so please be careful out there.
