2 Day trip from Irvine to Canary Warf in London.

Wed 26th June. Flat move from Renfrew to Wemyss Bay.

Monday 24th June. Kilmacolm to Kilmacolm. 3 van loads which ended up with a very late finish.

Saturdays Removal, Hampden to Helensburgh.

Friday Removal, Cathcart to Simshill.

Long one today, down to Birmingham for collection of household items then back upto Glasgow.

Friday Removal with a nice early finish. Pickup from flat on St Vincent Street to Safestore Charles Street for rest of customers items then onto Maryhill. Job done 👍👍

Big wednesday job, Thorntonhall to Giffnock, 3 runs, 1 to storage and 2 to new property.

Fridays big Removal, Pollokshields to Clarkston with 2 Vans, lots of stairs.

Massive thanks to darren at Vankirk Transport for the additional van.

Big move Wednesday.

Glasgow city center to Cambuslang, unfortunately the ridiculous Glasgow L*Z rules meant the Safemove van couldn't go in so hired in Vankirk Transport to help out, took 3 trips but another successful removal completed.

Removal today in the sun from Battlefield to East Kilbride.

Busy Friday, Govanhill to Cathcart, Airdrie to Coatbridge then Govan to Barrhead.

Good evening folks

Just thought i would share some information regarding the new laws of the disposal of upholstered domestice seating (sofas etc).

New legislation has been introduced on how waste management companys, including council run centers, dispose of upholstered domestic seating that contain POPs (persistant organic pollutants).

The below list is likely to contain pops and therefore MUST be disposed of separately from general waste and therefore the cost to dispose of them now carry a higher charge, this is because these items must be incinerated.

sofas
sofa beds
armchairs
kitchen and dining room chairs
stools and foot stools
home office chairs
futons
bean bags, floor and sofa cushions

Unfortunately the cost for us to dispose of these has now greatly increased, before we could dispose of them along with general waste but as mentioned, these must now be disposed of seperatly.

As an example of the costs, glasgow city council will charge me a minimum of £217 per 750kg and £290 per tonne. Private waste companys prices are similar.

Unfortunately, at the moment, it is no longer cost effective for me to uplift these items as single items or in sets (2 and 3 seater + chair) without passing the full disposal cost onto the customer.

We are, however, looking at alternative arrangements, possibly with a view to carry out bulk disposal, but this requires storage.

I will keep you all updated on progress.

Full Removal today from Clarkston to Clarkston in rather wet conditions. Keys arrived just after lunch time so didnt have to wait to long.

Wednesdays Removal, Dennistoun to Newton Mearns, tough one with lots of stairs.

Tuesdays Removal, Cook Street to Giffnock, thankfully all went well this time around and our customers finally moved into their new home.

Mondays removal Tradeston to Giffnock.

Moving home can be very stressful even when things go as planned, unfortunately issue's beyond our customers' control meant we had to move their belongings back into their flat on tuesday.

Hopefully this will be resolved soon and we can get our customers into their new home.

Saturday removal, kelvingrove to hamilton.

Been a busy couple of weeks for Safemove, various jobs from big to small, we do it all.

Local removal yesterday, keys before 12 o clock which is a first for glasgow 😉

Removal today from Maryhill to Cumbernauld for a repeat customer.

1st part on thursday was giffnock to storage then back out of storage today to customers new property in giffnock.

Thursday, removal between propertys in newton mearns then down to storage in barrhead.

Todays job was a clearance for the owners of Esso in barrhead, cleared out a fair amount of stuff from bread and ginger crates to old metal cages.
