As SVBNS returns for the academic year of 21/22, we are looking for new students to take the reigns! If you think you have the skills for any of the positions listed below, send your interest to [email protected] or send us a message on Facebook. You can apply for a maximum of 2 roles, and positions will be voted on at our AGM on Monday 27th September, 6pm! You will be required to do a 1 minute pitch of why you think you are a star candidate for each role you apply for ⭐️

✍🏼 End Of Year Wrap Up ✍🏼

Hi all, with the new academic year beginning to kick off, I wanted to take the time to reflect on the previous years success. The Strathclyde Virtual Business Networking Society started off as a side project at university, but over the course of the year, it grew to be so much more.

The range of guests we had at our speaker events provided valuable insights into some of the industries that fellow students may end up in in their chosen careers, so thank you to all of these brilliant individuals who took the time to share their knowledge! The socials allowed members to meet each other (often for the first time) in a relaxed and care free environment during the most isolating year of Strathclyde history. Our end of year social @ The Ark allowed us to FINALLY meet a handful of members outside of the virtual environment and it was truly heart warming to hear some of the feedback from the society this year. It was also amazing to be recognised by the Strath Student Union, as we won the Gold Society of the Year at the Club and Society Awards.

I wanted to take this time to thank the committee, Chris Chelich, Tiana Sexton, Helen Fleming and Ben Ridder for the immense work they put in to all aspects of SVBNS. This society would have been nothing if it was not for the dedicated members and committee over the course of the year, so thank you!

I look forward to handing over the reigns to the new cohort of students in the academic year of 21/22. Details on how to join and how to apply to be part of the committee this year will be posted in the following weeks.

The Strathclyde Virtual Business Networking Society is getting involved in Movember this year to raise money and spread awareness for men’s health. Money raised will help fund vital projects for mental health, su***de prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Movember is not all about growing a moustache! You can also run/walk 60km in the month of November for the 60 men that commit su***de every hour worldwide.
At SVBNS we believe this is a very important topic, especially during these tough times we are all facing!
