brings a palette of soft, pale, romantic pinks. These gentle hues create a serene and inviting atmosphere, somewhere you will want to unwind and feel at ease. Pair with neutral tones and natural textures for a chic and balanced look.
Another quote that I absolutely love.
As I’ve said before, I am always drawn to homes that have character and depth, and tell me a little about the people that live there. I love seeing furniture or trinkets that have history and meaning, items that have been collected on life’s journey.
There is I feel an importance in incorporating antiques or vintage pieces……
*it helps give a space a timeless quality, and given these items often carry historical, aesthetic and emotional value, help add depth, character and meaning to a space.
*combining both vintage and contemporary design elements can create a unique and balanced aesthetic. The contrast can help make a space feel dynamic and layered.
*unique items can serve as focal points or conversation starters in a room. They add a sense of intrigue and richness that newer pieces may not offer.

Better late than never 🫣……
Tones and textures of white.
An all white colour palette can be elegant and refreshing. Here are some helpful tips on how to successfully do this:
- introduce a variety of textures to stop the space feeling flat. Consider elements such as marbles, pale timbers, linens, or faux furs.
- use a mixture of differing soft tones, to help add depth and interest
- add pops of colour through accessories such as artwork, and plants
- maximise the use of natural light the space to enhance the brightness of the white surfaces. Perhaps use layered sheers to allow filtered light through.
We had a very welcome weekend of sunshine and warmth - which is reflected in today’s ‘punchy’ colour scheme!
Pink and orange, when combined, can bring an energetic and playful vibe. These colors exude warmth, happiness, and a sense of adventure, making them perfect for creating a lively and inviting atmosphere.

Wallpaper is a fantastic and versatile way of giving your home a fresh new look, be that bold patterns, subtle designs or soothing textures.
It shouldn’t also be limited to the walls! Think ceilings, panelling, hidden doors, backs of display cabinets and fronts of wardrobes and cabinetry doors.
“The home should be the treasure chest of the living” - Le Corbusier
I love this quote! Your home is so much more than just a place to live; it’s a sanctuary where memories are made and cherished. Every piece of furniture, every wall colour, and every decoration should reflect the unique presence of those who reside there.

A palette of aqua and pinks to brighten up what is a pretty grey bank holiday Monday here in Glasgow.
🌊💕This palette is perfect for creating an interior design scheme that will leave you feeling refreshed and inspired. 💦💖 The soothing aqua tones bring a sense of tranquility, while the playful pinks add a touch of romance and vibrancy.
A great Interior is about creating a sensory rich environment, that engages all five senses. Here are some ways to achieve this:
👀 Sight: the visual impact of a space is crucial. By using colour schemes to evoke a mood, thinking about lighting to create differing ambiences. Incorporating art. Patterns and plants help to add visual interest and lead your eye through a room.
👆🏻Touch: Texture is essential for a tactile experience. Combining different materials like smooth marbles, against the grain of woods, or soft woven rugs. Texture accessories in the form if throws, cushions and wall hangings invite interaction and provide a sensory richness that makes a space feel more dynamic and engaging.
👃Smell: Scents can transform the ambience of a room and evoke memories. Use natural elements like fresh flowers, foliage, herbs, scented candles or essential oils. Choose scents that align with the function of the space - lavender for relaxation, citrus smells for energising, and vanilla for warmth in cosy living areas.
👂Sounds: soundscapes can also significantly affect how a space feels. Lots of hard surfaces can give a cold clinical feel. Incorporating elements like water features for soothing background noise, or sound systems to play ambient music. Sound dampening materials like rugs, upholstery and drapes help to control unwanted noise and create a more serene environment.
👅Taste: while not directly related to physical design, the taste can be incorporated the experiences facilitated by the space, such as the Kitchen or Dining room, designed for cooking and entertainment. Ensuring these spaces are designed to be inviting and accessible, with beautiful set ups for food preparation and dining, enhances the sensory experience.
Careful consideration to our senses, ensures an environment that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also deeply immersive and satisfying.

In honour of the yellow object in the sky, that we were lucky enough to see this weekend.
Just like the Sun ☀️ Yellow is known for its energizing and uplifting qualities. It can instantly brighten up any room and evoke feelings of happiness and positivity. Incorporating yellow accents or furniture can create an uplifting and cheerful ambiance in your space.

Using pale sage greens and neutrals throughout your interior design creates a sense of visual harmony. These colors blend seamlessly with other elements, such as natural materials, wooden accents, or pops of color, resulting in a cohesive and balanced aesthetic that promotes relaxation and serenity.
Red & Teal - a Dynamic Combination. These vibrant colours create a stunning contrast, that adds energy and personality to an Interior Scheme.
The red, representing passion, warmth and vitality, whilst the Teal counteracts this with its sense of tranquility, balance, and sophistication.
Why do we sometimes want to do this in a room? Well when using 2 colours with a stark contrast, it automatically creates a dynamic and energetic equilibrium, visual impact and drama to a space. Doing this helps to strategically highlight an element or area of a room, such as focal points, architectural features or any design elements.
Remember to SAVE if this colour palette appeals to you!

If money were no object, I would definitely open up and widen the doorway into my lounge, and reinstate/add some of the beautiful mouldings and architectural details that can be seen in this Paris apartment, in my own humble Glasgow Tenement flat.
Why?
Well, not only would it improve flow and functionality - wider doorway creates a seamless flow between rooms, enhancing the overall functionality of your space. It also allows for easier movement of furniture, making it a breeze to rearrange and transform your interior design.
It also helps create an abundance of natural light (which my hallway would thank me for!) Widening a doorway can introduce an influx of natural light into the room, brightening up the space and creating a more welcoming ambiance. Natural light has been proven to boost mood and productivity, making your room a happier and more inspiring place to be.
And by incorporating decorative architectural details, we’re adding a touch of sophistication and elegance to the room. Intricate moldings, ornate trim, or stylish archways can elevate the overall aesthetic, turning an ordinary space into a visually stunning masterpiece.
If money were no object for you, what would you want to do in your home?? I’d love to know, so please share in the comments below 👇 😊

Turquoise - possibly….. my favourite colour!
Who says color palette inspiration has to come from paint swatches or a magazine…🤔Sometimes, the most unexpected places can spark the perfect combination of hues for your next project!
More often than not my inspiration comes from being out in the world. Be that when out walking the dog a stroll through nature or being inspired by the sights and colours when travelling to different cities and countries. Let the colors of the world around you ignite your creativity. From the subtle shades of a seashell to the bold patterns of a piece of artwork, there’s no limit to where you can find your color inspiration. 💫🔍 Share your favorite sources of color palette inspiration in the comments below! 💬🌈

Patterned carpets probably evoke (bad) memories of the 1970’s and the swirly carpets our parents and grandparents may have had!
However, a patterned carpet does have its place! And as can be seen in this post by there is an undeniable charm and practicality to them. Not only can they inject colour, character and personality into a space, but their designs also camouflage dirt and stains, making the a hugely practical option too! Plus, patterned carpets can visually expand small spaces and add depth to larger ones, creating a dynamic and inviting atmosphere.
Obvs it had to be inspired by one of my many holiday snaps.
Neutrals like soft whites, warm grays, and earthy beiges provide a timeless and calming backdrop for any space. 🌟 And when paired with a touch of baby blue, it brings a refreshing and airy feel to the room.

A with a relaxing ambiance for a bank holiday Easter Monday: Soft pale greens have a tranquil effect on the mind and body. They can help create a serene and peaceful environment, perfect for relaxation and unwinding.
Hope that’s exactly the kinda day you are all having.

Most of the time I am a big fan of symmetry in an interior and the calming sense of balance that brings. However sometimes the space and it’s requirement’s don’t allow for that, or you simply want to throw in a curve ball, and as these images show, that can work too!
The key is balance. While symmetry is about creating a mirror image, asymmetry is about achieving balance through visual weight. Use larger or bolder elements on one side to balance out smaller or more delicate elements on the other side.

We’ve had International Woman’s day and Mother’s Day in the last week, so today we have a more ‘Feminine’ inspired moodboard, namely because of the beautiful pink and white Tulips I got on Mother’s Day, and because of the beautiful and touching Mug my 12 year old daughter had made for me with one of her own drawings 🥰.
Looking to create a serene and sophisticated space? Look no further than this Dusty Teal interior color palette. This versatile shade pairs beautifully with taupes, grays, lilacs, and and soft burgundy’s, creating a harmonious and calming atmosphere in any room.
PINK!! I’m not generally speaking, a big fan of Pink interiors, however this might persuade me otherwise!
I can just picture myself floating around this Moroccan Property, in my Kaftan, mint tea in hand!
Happy weekend!
These calming and soothing hues create a serene and tranquil atmosphere, perfect for any space. The soft blues evoke a sense of tranquility and peace, while the greys add a touch of elegance and sophistication. The greens bringing the natural element, reminiscent of lush foliage.
Remember to save this post or any of my other Moodboards, if they might inspire a colour palette for your home.
This maybe a little premature, but when out on the dog walks I’m beginning to see the first of the spring blossoms 😍. Therefore my is a nod to the promise of spring, that magical season that can be so inspiring, with those soft bursts of colour that awaken the landscape from its winter slumber.

This has been by far my favourite Instagram save of the week!
I wouldn’t often suggest you take one colour only and use entire throughout your home, but this may be the exception.
I think the reason it works, is because of the sumptuous use of contrasting textures, the warm tones of the red brick and timber, and the addition of lots of foliage.
I would definitely want to live here. How about you?

So “brown” is one of THE colours for 2024, and as I showed in my reel on Friday, it can be used in a really current and contemporary way, without a hint of the 1970’s!
Brown is actually a great shade to create a warm and inviting atmosphere in your home. Whether you choose a rich chocolate brown, a soothing taupe, or a soft caramel hue, this versatile color can be incorporated into any room to add depth and sophistication..

Thought I would show my face on here, as it’s been a while - a long while! And…. I’ve had a few new followers since then, so figured I should say ‘Hello’, thank you for taking the time to follow me, and engage with my posts, and introduce myself.
🗣️My name is Tracy Sifaoui (pronounced See-fa-wee) and I live in Glasgow with my Algerian Husband, 12 year old daughter Farah and 2 year old Australian Labradoodle Teddy.
🗣️I graduated in 1998 with a BDes Hons degree in Printed Textiles from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee, but my first job after graduating was with an Interior Designer, and knew that this was what I wanted to do as a career - and the rest is history!
🗣️When not working I love to draw & paint, cook and read books. And it has to be an actual page turning book, and not in a Kindle or device!
🗣️3 Books I’ve read and still think about are: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Help by Katherine Stocket and Me before You by Jojo Moyes.
🗣️Happiness is Happy Clients! And….. a Cheese board and glass of wine!
🗣️Last film I watched was Oscar nominated ‘Nyad’ with Annette Bening and Jodie Foster. Wow - to even have half of that self belief, determination and motivation to fulfil your dreams, and succeed!
🗣️Surprise Skill - I’m quite good with a Yo-yo! 😂
I’d love to hear a little about you, do we have things in common? Anyone else good with a yo-yo?? 🤷🏼♀️🤣
