Over the past few weeks, so many lovely people have messaged to ask how I managed to drop 9st over the past 17 months.
Before this change of lifestyle, I was stuck in a cycle, endlessly searching for that elusive magic diet wand, believing it was out there, waiting to instantly turn me into the best version of myself. Iโd daydream about finding it, waving my wand, and bingo, becoming the person I always thought I needed to be to find happiness. But hereโs the truth, that magic wand doesnโt exist. What Iโve discovered instead is something even more powerful, the right support.
I was at a point where I felt completely lost and out of control, unsure of where to turn next. Thatโs when a friend suggested I reach out to a professional life coach to set me on the right path. Enter the incredible Liza Harding-Buck, my guiding star. From our very first video call, I knew this time was going to be different. Lizaโs warmth, strength and unwavering support wrapped around me like a safety net, catching me where Iโd previously fallen so many times.
We spoke about the wish list of goals I wanted to achieve and together we created a plan that focused on calorie deficit. As a Type 1 diabetic I chose to go carb-light to manage my insulin needs better. We also added a simple yet powerful element, at least 2.5 litres of water a day. This little tweak turned out to be a game-changer, helping to curb those cravings that could have easily derailed my progress in early days.
But the true magic wasnโt in the meal plan or the water, it was in Liza. Having her by my side checking in every day and those weekly video calls, became the secret to my success. Her support and the accountability she provided kept me laser-focused on my goals. That magic diet wand might be a myth, but in Liza I found something even better, my very own fairy godmother.
