Getting announcements and music around an area the size of three or four football fields was tricky, but we don't think anyone noticed as there were plenty of distractions on hand.
Did anybody go to this?
One of the best things about being involved with events is the variety it brings into your life. Strathaven Balloon Festival was incredible this weekend. Great live acts on the music stage all weekend, tons of gorgeous food, interesting stalls and lots of stuff for the kids to get up to. All of that, plus some amazing balloons. Hope you had a great weekend!

Rotary in Scotland must be one of the most misunderstood and underrated organisations in Scotland. I'll admit that I one point, I thought it was all retired people having coffee mornings to talk about fundraising for the local community. Having delivered two separate keynotes, one on the need for change and one on public image, I now know that Rotary International are one of the most dynamic charities on the planet. There's also Rotaract, the superhero sidekick to Rotary International for the more youthful of you out there. Give them a Google.
This time last week, I was in Strathclyde Country Park, hosting an event from one of our outdoor stages supporting St. Andrew's Hospice (Lanarkshire) with their Wear Yellow Walk.
We had some real star power on hand, and I don't mean boy band Just The Brave Official (though they were great).
The real stars were the kids from dozens of Lanarkshire schools and their teachers. They all gave up their time, raised money and walked a circuit of the Loch to support a great charity.
Well done to everyone who took part, and see you all again next year!
What a sad old pervert!
Last week I was doing an event with Des Clarke for Children's Hospices Across Scotland(CHAS). I'd done the auction, played a big prize game, and intro'd a couple of people. I'd had a few laughs with the girls who were attending the ladies' lunch, and my work was done.
I'd arrived with the wee stunner in the photo and asked her to dance. When we were on the dance floor, I noticed a real change in the ladies; some looked at me like I'd farted or was pals with Matt Hancock.
It was only when an organiser came up and asked, "would your...em....wife like a drink?" that I realised what was going on.
It's a sad reflection of the state of our society that it's possible someone of my age, with enough money or notoriety, could have a partner my daughter's age.
So if you attended the CHAS Ladies' Lunch, please know that it was my daughter, and I'm not a sad pervert.
What a messed up world.

Anyone been on the receiving end of this?
Haven't done this before and thought it was cool, so I'm sharing it.
This is the most common error we see at events.

Anyone need DJ? 😀
DJ's just turn up with all their tunes pre-mixed on a USB!
Love this photo of GBX Anthems Events from a two-day event we produced at the weekend. Look at the concentration on George Bowie's face as he's caught in that moment where he's deciding what anthem to drop next to take the party even higher. Legend!
