Komplex Gallery artist highlights:
Consuelo R. Servan is an artist born in Extremadura, Spain. Glasgow based since 2012, Servan has honed her screen-printing practice for nine years at the Glasgow Print Studio and Print Clan. Originally trained in sculpture at the Complutense University in Madrid, she completed the MRes in Creative Practice at Glasgow School of Art in 2018.
Her work distinctively references the natural world, paying attention to how change in the surrounding environment has the ability to expose and embody human emotions.
Since moving to Scotland, she has grown a strong evocative component in connection with the identity and biodiversity heritage of her home country.
These unique screen prints are part of ‘The Chain’, a project that explores shifts and sonority in colour and shape by connecting links to create a compound chain-like structures. It is inspired by the Opuntia cactuses, belonging to the rhizome family, that grow wild around her home town.
Servan’s work has been exhibited in: Crawford Gallery, Cork; San Jorge Art Centre, Caceres; La Casa Encendida, Madrid and ATA Gallery, SF. In 2007, she was awarded the ‘Francisco de Zurbaran Fellowship in Artistic Creation’ by the Extremadura Government. She works as a Community Artist and Educator, focused on making non-hierarchical connections, enabling people with a range of abilities to gain confidence and develop their creative self.

Kris Mutter is the creative force behind LOW recycled wood-workshop. A self-taught woodworker driven by passion, Kris discovered the allure of discarded wood found on the streets, leading to a dedicated focus on recycled materials.
At LOW, each piece is a testament to Kris's commitment to quality, as defects and scars from the wood's past are discarded, leaving only the best features.
LOW's creations are more than furniture; they are consciously crafted, guilt-free products that proudly narrate stories of wood that has travelled the globe. Kris Mutter's vision ensures that every piece, steeped in history, finds a proud and beautiful place in your home.

Elsie Hill is an Interior Design graduate and fine artist based in Glasgow. Since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art, she works part-time in the design industry whilst pursuing her creative interests and producing artworks in her Glasgow city centre studio.
Her primary medium is acrylic on canvas. The planning process involves sourcing inspiration and contemplating potential titles for individual pieces. She explores colour, scale, and layout whilst taking advantage of her technical software background. The precision is evident in her paintings which are influenced by the works of Bauhaus, Mark Rothko, and American-based artist Sean Scully.
Her deliberate process results in abstract style artworks which are both visually striking and personally meaningful. The purpose is to have buyers and collectors view and interpret the pieces using only their imagination.
Komplex Gallery artist highlights:
Laura Maclean, a Glasgow-based artist, graduated from Dundee Art School Duncan of Jordanstone in 2004.
Over the past 12 years, she has dedicated herself to creating a collection of large paintings called The Monstrosity series. Each painting, taking around 24 months to complete, evolving organically, often representing herself and loved ones. Inspired by life's ups and downs, especially the loss of her mum, the abstract nature of the paintings invites viewers to find their own meaning, transcending literal representation.
Laura's deep connection with nature, influenced by her daily immersion with dogs, infuses her work with genuine and heartfelt energy. These abstract creature paintings and dog portraits not only help her process life's challenges but also celebrate the enduring companionship, joy, and wisdom found in the natural world.
