FAQ | Developing relationships online
So many people ask me how we develop an effective relationship with our pupils online. We believe effective teaching and learning happens when we take time to build connections with the families we work with. Working with us online is like having your own personal teacher supporting you to face learning challenges from the comfort of your own home.
Alongside equipping our pupils academic content, we build in time to teach the 'soft skills', such as evaluating, self assessing and being able to seek help. It takes an incredible amount of confidence for a pre teen to state when they don't understand something and a lot of evaluative thinking to formulate a question about the parts of the learning they would like to improve upon. These are life long learning skills and such an important part of our methodology at Boost.
At Boost Your Learning we LISTEN. We listen to parents, we listen to pupils and we listen to experts. Today we met with Marilena to discuss the challenges faced by pupils transitioning to high school with significant gaps in their literacy acquisition. We hear there are significant challenges. We hear there needs to be more intensive support. We hear the resources need to be rigorous and transferable to different subjects. We hear there is a crisis, worsened by COVID-19. We hear you and we are working hard to create evidence based solutions to support learners across Scotland.

Well. This is exciting. As many of you know I am super committed to improving learning outcomes for students. After reconnecting with an old school friend, about 100 hours of Zoom calls and some empowering conversations with other great teachers in Scotland...I am delighted to say Boost Your Learning has officially landed in Scotland. That means Scottish students can experience the same acceleration in their learning, the same growth in confidence and the same lasting success that my initial students did. We love to meet new students and support them to thrive in their learning through our one on one holistic and bespoke approach. We looks forward to welcoming new students in English and Maths for Primary and Secondary.
This is a bittersweet moment on our journey back home from a summer well spent. A moment to savour summer memories and look forward to a new academic year. My boys and I love the slower days, time to be silly and time to connect. At Boost, we are looking forward to a new term of learning, making connections and building confidence and success.
Wishing you and your children every success in this new academic year. I hope you can hold on to those special summer connections and are able to watch your children thrive in their academic pursuits.
Sometimes external help is required to Boost Learning, and that's where we come in. Don't hesitate to get in touch for a free consultation or full learning assessment to empower your child with all the skills required to really look forward to a year of academic awesomeness and increased self esteem.
